Events of the Past (Russan - Take Over)
  • Posted On: Dec 13 2002 7:01am
The Dark Heart, flagship of Executioner Nox Anor-Sadow, slipped smoothly out of hyperspace, reverting to real space along with her armada of support craft. Silently and swiftly, the Fleet broke into a holding pattern far, far above the planets surface.

...Aboard the Dark Heart...
"We have realspace reversion, Executioner. Moving into blockade positions." spoke the Admiral, addressing the dark armored figure with a hint of trepidation.
With a nod the Executioner turned slowly towards the Admiral, his face taking on a sinister grin, as he moved across the bridge to the Admirals position.
"Ready the landing. I want this planet, and I want is now."
And that was all. With Executioner Nox Anor-Sadow orders came clear and concise. Questions wasted time, and the Executioner valued his time highly.
Hands held behind his back, the Executioner moved slowly to the control pit.
"Comm, alert the surface, get me someone in charge down there."
"Sir!" snapped the eager young officer, setting about his work.
With a nod of approval Executioner Sadow again turned towards the Admiral. "You are still here?"
"Executioner," began the Admiral, "You wish me to lead the landing?" His look was one of subdued shock.
Sadow pressed his presence around the Admiral, "Better to die at the hands of the enemy then at the hands of your commander is it, Admiral?"
It was going to be a difficult time for his crew. Sadow was new to this posting, to this fleet that had been arranged for him. Unfortunately, there were among the crew a vast number of soldiers and crew who he had not yet had the opportunity to address. Worse yet, the Executioner was sure that there were others yet who knew the disgrace of his family. A disgrace that could complicate his command.
The Admiral stammered, unsure of how to reply, "Yes...Yes sir." Then, was gone. Gone to ready the landing party. Out of the Executioners bother. The landing force had previously been made ready under the watchful eye of the Executioner.
He had wanted to be certain that those going to the planet knew who it was that gave their orders. He wanted them to kill and die for his glory.
This planet would be his, a gift to the Dark Lord, this was sure. Even with the force presented to him, he knew this would be a simple conquest.
"Sir, the landing craft are away." reported a junior officer, nervousness in his voice.
"Excellent," came the Executioners reply, fingers pressed together, "Commence orbital bombardment, I want a clear staging area when they arrive."
"Sir." The confirmation came from a senior gunnery officer only moments before trails of coherent light streaked towards the surface. An instant later, the rest of the Fleet joined in directing a pummeling of turbolaser fire at the planet.
It forced a grin across Sadows' lips, watching on as the area selected for landing and the area around it burst into clouds of incendiary smoke. Even from his vantage point aboard the bridge of the Heart, the damage was clear and evident. A swath of barren rock being cut across the surface.
"Area clear, Sir," reported the gunnery officer, "Cease fire, Sir?"
The answer was clear to the Executioner, though he would not expect a mere officer to know.
"No. Change targets, give me firing solutions for the larger settlements. Target the outlying areas and fire."
Aboard any other ship in any other force, the order would have seemed absurd. Pointless even, but the Sith knew the value of fear. "The status of the landing force?"
"Sir, ETA 2.45 minuets, Sir." Another eager reply for the young Comm officer. Perhaps someone with a future under Sadows command.
The time between now and arrival would leave enough space for the ground to cool and for the smoke to thin.
"Sir, we have communication from the planet. Reports as Governor of the largest city."
Acknowledging the information, the Sith turned towards the scanner post in the command pit. "Track the location of this communique, locate where this...person...speaks from."
"Sir!" snapped the scanner officer, rushing into a flurry of work.
"Comm, get me Command of the Blackbird."
"Sir, chanel open." alerted the comm officer, a holo image of the Duro captain.
"Executioner, I am at your command." the first remark from the Duro.
"Commander, take the Blackbird into a low orbit...track the coordinates being sent to you, and have your weapons on full."
The Duro nodded, "As you order.", then vanished from the holo.
"Comm, coordinates to the Blackbird and open a line to their diplomat."
This was going smoothly, so far. Reports had indicated the planet had no shielding units, but weapon encampments were expected. Why they had not yet fired, the Executioner could only guess.
"Sir, Comm reports no visual." added the Comm officer, visual capabilities apparently knocked out.
The first message came through broken, full of static. "Attention attacking forces, we are a peacful planet. Cease and explain your actions."
The voic was clearly not human, but it had a powerful command of basic.
A chuckle slipped from the Executioner, pleased with the reaction of the planetary governer.
"Russan. This is Executioner Nox Anor-Sadow, the voice of command from the Black Heart. Your planet is to become the property of the Sith Empire. Admit defeat now and save the persecution of your peoples."
Sadow glanced briefly at his Comm officer, apparently thinking leaps ahead. In reply, the young officer nodded. The Blackbird was holding, awaiting the Executioners order.
"You have no right! We are a free planet...By what order do you do this?"
The speaker planetside was clearly becoming unnerved. The damage reports were likely just now coming in, from across the planet.
With a subtle nod to the Comm officer, a signal was sent to the Blackbird.
"I have all the right. I do this for my Dark Lord, I do it because I am Executioner.

Aboard the Blackbird, a commanding Duro nodded to his gunnery officers. Streaks of coherent red light lanced down toward the planet, arrowing for an exact source.

"Sir," began the Comm officer, "Blackbird reports direct hits, the building has been obliterate...Sir!"
Sudden shock rang through the Comm officers voice, but Sadow knew what had transpired even before it was reported.
After the immolation of the Blackbirds target, only moments after, three streaks of charged ion energy has stung from the planets surface and smacked the ship on forward bridge.
Sadow could tell, and not from the voice of his reporting Comm officer, that the Blackbird was stricken. The surface Ion cannon had done a job on the Blackbird. She was lurching, her power intermittent and her orbit degrading.
This pressed a frown across the Executioners lips. Losses had been anticipated, but not something that Sadow was willing to accept.
"Gunnery, I want solutions for the source of those shots. Anhilate anything on the surface in the area. Everything!"
This was where the power of the Sith shone through.
"Track her descent. Close range to tractor distance and pull her up. Helm!."
The ship lurched into motion, quick and maneuverable despite her considerable size, her nose angled towards the surface, her sublight engines leaving a trail across the ionosphere as she closed on the stricken ship with Cannons blazing.
"Sir, her orbit is sinking too fast. We've lost her.", came the voice of the sensor officer, but it never reached the Executioner.
Eyes pressed shut, the Executioner and weilder of the Dark Side slipped into a trance.

Reaching. Searching. Massive and indefinite, invisible fingers of a controlled hand reached, stretched...
Falling, she was located. Anger and fear, like trails of smoke, the poured off of the shape.
The hand found the shape, found the Fear and Anger...The hand closed.
Strain, effort. The shape stopped falling and just hung.

"Sir, she...We have her sir."
Eyes opening, the Executioner regarded the speaker with cold yellow eyes. "Kill them all. If they fight, kill them, if the surrender, kill them. I want this planet. I want it now!."

The Executioner moved slowly, purposefully, along a line of assembled prisoners. Some wore the badges of officers, others dressed in the height of fashion, apparant dignataries or poloticians. Each stood freely, no bindings holding them in place, fear of the Executioner and his personal escort kept them in place.
He had these prisoners, these captives, ferried up from the planet to the "Heart" and arranged here in one of the interrogation halls.
The Executioner Nox Anor-Sadow was an imposing sight under any circumstance, but here at his whim, he was all the more sinister. Evil, anger...The Dark Side, virtually leaked off of him. Clad in his suit of Dark Armor that bore a striking resemblance to the living armor the Yuuzhan Vong once employed, it seemed almost organic in appearance.
"You hold the fate of your people in your own hands," he began, a mocking tone in his voice, "Surrender, tell your soldiers and freedom fighters to throw down their weapons and I will spare the populus."
With a shrug, Sadow slid his cape back, revealing his weapons and placing his hands on his hips.
"Deny, and watch your world die."
Things were well underway down on the planet surface. His landing force was well on its way to taking the capital city, his capital craft continued to harry random points across the world, and his fighters offered what support they could in keeping the populus grounded. Unconcerned with a strategic win, more then a few private transports had managed to slip by and away. In the eyes of the Executioner it only served their purpose and left less defenders down below.
"We will never give in to your strongarm tactics", from one of the dignataries, "Someone will come to our aid. Acts like this cannot be allo..Erk."
Cut short, the creature gripped at its neck as it was lifted from the deck by an invisable hand.
"Wrong, fatally wrong." muttered Sadow, the life already draining away from his victims body.
"The sooner you people learn to respect and fear power and those who hold it..."
But there was no need to finish the statement, they knew and, as the corpse fell to the deck, they began to understand.
Turning to one of his gaurds, the Executioner gave a gesture with which the other prisoners were scuffled off back to their cells.
-----------------------------

The Executioner stood vigil on the bridge of his flagship, listening in to progress reports and keeping appraised of the situation below. There was very little that demanded his attention at this time, he had gotten the seige well underway, had laied out tactical plans and eventualities, choosen leading personell and set out ordanance reports. Now there was little more to do but stand back and wait.
His generals had been taught to act independantly under order or command. They knew which options were availble to them, and which were forbidden. Wise in the ways of subjugation, fully able to deal with the small resistance this planet could offer.

It wasn't until well into the 20th hour of the invasion that the mood struck the Executioner, to go down to the planets surface.
The hours had passed slowly as he had his top experts on the case of tracking down officials. They had gathered nearly one hundred such individuals in one of the large centers in the area of the city the Sith had control.
The temptation was too rich to pass up, the chance to exert his authority on others. He enjoyed pain, both inflicting and receiving it. Perhaps a hang up from his families past. Whenever the chance presented itself, he was there to take up the offer. It had been said by his teachers and instructors that his killers instinct was beyond over-developed.
It was fitting with his title, the path his training took.
--------
It was a joy to get off of the "Heart" for a time. It afforded him too many luxuries, too many indulgences that he could not afford.
To become dependant on any one thing was to die.
Sitting quietly in the rear of the shuttle Envoy, the Executioner crossed his palms neatly on his lap and glanced out the view port.
Preparations had been taken. In full armor, helm and all, Sadow had strapped on both his traditional lightsabers, as well as his reviled Sith Sword. He was an imposing figure, dressed like this. Yet, he felt...incomplete.
The discretion of his Dark Lord were not to be taken lightly, despite how much he would have enjoyed being able to bring along an amphistaff or even a tsai.
"We're landing my lord."
The Executioner nodded, it was time to do the real work.
One could occupy as much of a world as one wanted while still not truly possessing it.
The Executioner wanted to possess this planet fully.
----------------------------------------------------
They were pathetic, disheveled and demoralized.
His troops had done masterfully in extricating this mass of leadership here, sure to spare no comfort.
Near one hundred thick, they stood along the outside of one of the buildings, backs to the wall. One long line of losses.
Only 35 off his elite troops were in the immediate vicinity, weapons trained on the hostages.
Smirking to himself, the Executioner stepped from the shuttle onto the cobbled ground. The effect his presence had on the hostages was nearly tangible.
They gasped, spared long stared, and for some part, leered at the Executioner. Standing there, in all his glory, full armor, an escort of six highly trained guards, black cape seeming to eat the light around him, one could not help but be...impressed.
Terror and fear were the tools of the Executioner, and they were never stayed by his hand.
Moving in fluid motion, Sadow started up the line of hostages, walking no more then an arms length from them, flanked by his guards.
"I am Nox Anor-Sadow. I am the one who has invaded your planet, and I am here only for your surrender."
He allowed them a moment to process that in whichever way they desired, his path was already clear.
Then, in a flurry of motion, he grabbed the nearest hostage about the neck and hefted the cretin off its feet. As expected, the flailing creature clutched at Sadows arm.
"To prove I expect results..."
With a twist of his wrist, the sound of popping bone finished his sentence and the figure went limp.
Tossing the lifeless husk away, he turned back towards the assembled mass. This was going to go very well.
-----------------------------------------------
Thirty three minuets later, the whole city was theirs. In the short time that Executioner Sadow had been on the planet, he had secured document surrender from the city's leaders.
Not that it mattered any to the Executioner. He was always thinking ahead.
Even as he strode back towards the shuttle, followed by his guards, locals were being gathered en mass within some of the larger, more prominent locales.
Places that would soon be no more then rubble, once the Executioner had returned to his ship and ordered the obliteration of said locations via turbolaser.
Looking sidelong towards one of his guards he gestured the subservient forward.
"I want you to remain on the planet and see to it that our Admiral on post uses his rank to start sweeping the areas out lying the city"
"Yes, my liege." swore the quickly departing guards.
------------------------------------------------
Back on the bridge of the Dark Heart, Sadow dispatched the order for the mass execution to begin planetside.
This planet would fall into his control, or it would be ground to dust and its' people left as ash.
Sending an Executioner to a task like this had to be thought out very well.
It would never do to send one of Sadows sort to take possession of a world that was strategically important. They had a tendency to crush obedience and order out of their subjects and enemies. They accepted nothing less.
The mistake had been made once, in the history of the Sith Empire, and only once.
An Executor was dispatched to quell an uprising one one of their rimward planets.
The uprising was snuffed in less then one weeks time. Unfortunately, it left a good deal of the planets surface in flames and wiped out nearly a third of that planets population.
Executors served to spread terror and fear. They were trained to force respect out of their enemies by pain and death.
This planet was heading in a similar direction.
Sadow enjoyed genocide and mass murder, and would likely have exerted just as much force if the the planet had given-up at the start. Planets minded by Executors took centuries to recover.
Sadow was reflecting on these very matters when something disturbed him from his revelry.
"Sir, we may have a complication."
The desire to advance never ceased to amaze Sadow, and the young Comm officer that spoke impressed him.
"Mmm?" responded the Executor. Complications were easy to deal with, officers who understood this were equally so.

"Admiral, I can't pressure you enough about how important defending this planet is. You must have your best guard it, and he must guard it with his life. Don't leave too many ships there, it will attract too much attention, but do not, and I repeat, do not let the planet fall, defend it as you would Corellia."

"But sir, surely you must realize it's a barren world with a few valleys and rivers, why do I need to pull Rear Admiral Gvearo out of combat readiness so he can baby sit some canyons?"

"It isn't up for debate admiral. These orders came from Jiren himself, and I fully approve of them."

"At least some kind of explanation sir."

"All I can tell you is that the fate of the galaxy rests in THAT planet's neutrality, do you understand?"

"I...I think so sir."

"I know you won't fail me."

<font color=blue>The bridge was tense and quiet, no one had dared move a muscle in the whole structure as they stared carefully out the bridge. The admiral watched the thousands of millions of stars with a tenseness he had not felt since the Battle of Dantooine.

Admiral Mnar had been strict about his orders, but he never really expected something to come out of hyperspace, to come
here in this remote place! He had the firepower to take down enemy attacks - light ones at least - and he had a whole fleet stationed behind Ruusan's moon, but even all that did not ease his nerves. There was something wrong.

Why were they here?

There was something very very wrong. The speed with which they had dispatched to the ground was remarkable as well, they had covered more than half the planet in only a few short hours. What the hell was going on?

They have to be Jedi...Dark...evil Jedi.

There was simply no other explanation. He turned to his helmsman who stood silent at his side. While he had requested the best of the admiral's crews for his flagship they were all still inexperienced at best, the closest thing to a battle had been their little run in at Eriadu.

The fleet needed experience. It certainly seemed like this would be battle experience enough, no?

"Dispatch fighters Captain," he ordered in a hushed voice, as if speaking too loudly would alert the enemy of his presence.

Of course there was no way they could have found them. They were parked on the far side of Ruusan, hidden in the eclipse of its moon. They could not find them.

"Yes sir," the other responded in a similar tone. "Type sir?"

"A-Wing, recon."

"Yes sir."</font>

"Word from our scources within the New Republic, my Lord, they have caught word of the situation at hand. It will only be a matter of time until they arrive."
It was the curse of inferiors, those who had not the mastery of the Force, who could not feel the galaxy at large.
The Executioner grinned at the rear-admiral. Sadow always had a plan.
"I believe the situation will become much, much more grevious for the planet and those would would oppose us...Now"

Indeed, just as the words passed the Executioners lips, multiple contacts dropped out of hyperspace within sight of the Executioners craft.
The rest of his fleet had arrived.
-------------------------------
"Abolisher feilds at maximum." Came the report from the Comm as the rest of the Executioners Fleet moved into orbit.
Harbinger fleet was impressive, even by the standards of his Dark Lord. He was trusted, he was compotent.
"Deploy fighter patrols, move our Destroyers into defensive positions around the Heart." Ordered the Executioner.
"I do believe the situation is well in hand."
It had been wise to leave half of his fleet beyond the rim of the system. Just incase.
Executioners did their job well.

"The Fleet reports ready my Lord."
Standing before the triangular viewports on the bridge of the Dark Heart, the Executioner gazed deeply into the blackness of space.
He has dispatched the order to form up for departure less then 10 minuets earlier, proving again the state of readiness his crew was becoming accustomed to. It was long arduous path to glory and if anyone was prepared to mold the minds of his soldiers, it was Executioner Sadow.
"Coordinates programmed, all ships standing by for your order. Ashas Ree, set. My Lord."
"Excellent, Admiral, the word is given"
Words into action.
A dull hum vibrated through the hull plating as pinpoints of light, far distant stars, dissolved into a panorama of streaks.
The time between departure and arrival left exactly enough time for the Executioner to review the battle plans and be sure that all his troops and crew were prepared.
This was to be their first planetary conquest and he demanded top performance of his officers. Sadow had laid out the invasion very carefully. It would rely heavily on the orbital bombardment capabilities of his fleet, and if all went well, the planet would surrender before he was forced to begin landing troops.
Moving many times faster then light, the Fleet moved silently through Hyperspace, the Harbingers would do as their name told. They would bring a message to this planet, and to the galaxy.
The Sith Empire was expanding. It was only a matter of time.

The fleet, like a swarm, dropped out of hyperspace well into the planetary system, reverting to realspace nearly on top of Ashas Ree.
There was to be no warning. The Executioner was adamant on this matter. Going so far as to take a hazardous jump this close to the planet could serve only one purpose.
He planned to bombard this planet into submission, before they had the time and forewarning to get their planetary shields up and bring their weapon emplacements online.
Each ships commander was given very direct orders. Their attacks were to be carried out with precision and speed. If they were to fail, or to respond too slowly, the rock spinning below would have time to establish fortifications and scramble what resistance they could.
He had ordered ten of his Defender-Class ships to hold relative positions around the Dark Heart, nearly close enough for shield sharing. Posed in the middle would sit his Flagship, and together the eleven capital ships would begin orbital bombardment with their turbolasers. The other five of his Defenders were to take up relative positions along the equator of the planet, scramble their fighters and deal with surface weapons.
While his fleet split, moving on separate assignments, Sadow would have his seven Abolisher craft spread across the poles of the globe and establish their fields, keeping this situation secure.
Yet this was only part of his plan.
While the orbital bombardment kept the surface distracted, the Executioner had ordered the Republic Star Destroyers in his fleet to begin landing troops while utilizing their turbolasers and missile capabilities to ensure the safe deployment of troops and landing craft. They were also tasked with setting up a Command Head Quarters on the planet surface while the Victory Destroyers, capable of entering an atmosphere, dealt with the smaller cities and areas outlying them.
"All ships reporting in, my Lord," reported his Comm officer, "all defensive craft in position."
Excellent, thought Executioner Sadow standing quietly on his bridge, this planet will be forced into submission.
Slowly, purposefully, he turned to face the Comm officer. "Alert me when the surface Head Quarters is established." Then strode purposefully off of the bridge, headed for a specialized area aboard his craft.
------------------------------------------------------------------
"Genocide, my loyal followers, begins at home"
The comment sent a chuckle through the twelve or so assembled men.
They were Crafters. A sect within his family line who tampered in Sith Alchemy to create the dreams of their leader. They had been specially trained in the arts of Alchemy and possessed no practical combat skills, but their prowess of innovation far compensated for the combat loss.
"We have made them ready, Lord.", added one of his Alchemists, an aged human reported. "They will feast happily upon the bounty of this planet, they will breed, destroy and die. We have seen to it."
"As I well know, Srryrd." Sadow smiled at the speaker, "The sporestine were my dream, Alterer, and your task."
Specially designed rodents, the idea had come to Sadow during his days making ready to spread the will of his Dark Lord. Sporestine, as he called them, were voracious rodents half a meter long that bred like a virus. The more they consumed, the more they multiplied. The trick of it was in their method of reproduction. Unlike most mammals, they did not need to mate to reproduce, but instead, used regeneration as their tool.
The Executor had planed on a certain reaction from populous of the world below. They would seek out the signature of living creatures, using a form of heat-vision to locate their prey. Then they would swarm. Like flies to dung, they would lock onto the "kill scent" emitted by other sporestine and attack whatever target they located with ravaging anger. They would feed.
Here was the beauty part. Once they had finished feeding they would fall into a savage rage. Bellies fully, they would turn upon each other and tear one another to shreds. Like flatworms, they would spawn. Growing whole new sporestine from the scraps, and they would spread...
"Begin deployment of the sporestine, log the time, and keep me alert to their status." This was where balance was key. "I want to know when they begin to near our landed troops, leaving time to withdraw our men. Understood."
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The call broke the Executioner from his meditation. Deep within the belly of his flagship, Sadow sat in quiet contemplation, his mind linked with the Dark Force.
Again, the dingle of a Comm signal echoed through his meiditation chamber.
"Yes, what is it?" His tone was that of one slightly aggrivated, but also anticipating.
"Sir, the ground base has been set up." It was his Comm officer, the same one.
Working two shifts, the Executor chuckled at the thought, Hoping for a battlefeild comission perhaps.
"Noted, Comm. Prepare my shuttle."
Slowly, Sadow rose from his seat and moved towards a locker, retirieved something, then left for his shuttle.
-----------------------------------------
En route to his shuttle, one of the Executors alchemists appeard along and behind his flank.
Not slowing, nor even turning to adress his subordinate, "Speak."
"My Lord," began Srryrd, "The sporestine are deployed, only three carriers lost in transport, and they already spread."
"Projections?", demanded the Executioner.
"Twelve hours my Lord, no less."
Srryrd was practically glowing with pride to report this. He had been heading up the sporestine project for some time, he had hopes of seeing them in use more then just here. Though Srryrd had no idea of the Executioner intentions, nor the plans moved into action.
"Very well. Accompany me to the surface."
------------------------------------------------------
The shuttle bucked as it entered the atmosphere of the planet, shaking its cargo.
The Exectioner, Srryrd, and six of Sadows best trained elite troops sat strapped into the back of the Lambda-Class shuttle.
Even from here, the damage was clear. Images thrown up on displays in the passanger comparment showed massive swaths of fire and smoke, the work of turbolasers. Others showed the progress of troops moving through city streets, while still others tracked the progress of the sporestine.
Smiling to himself, Sadow was pleased to see his troops working so closely to the plans he had laid out. Slowly but surely, he was molding those under his command into a deadly weapon, a deadly weapon of his Dark Lord.
A forward display lit up with a view of the command base. Heavily fortified, it was plainly evident that the fighting was going on quite far from here. Mainly in the Cities and areas around them.
Sadow remained unconcerned with those spread thin across the plains and areas of forest. If the sporestine did not finish them before their expiration, then his remaining forces on the surface would handle any rebels swifty and with force. He would demoralise this world, push it into such dispair it would not have the will to fight.
Another rumble shook the shuttle as its wings slowly folded up and it touched down on the landing pad.
-----------------------------------------
The command center was a flurry of activity, information and men rushing from place to place, coordinating a surface wide take-over.
As the Executioner stepped into the apex, all movement stopped. Even the casual bleeping and pinging of infoterminals seemed to cease in the imposing presence of Sadow.
Immediate displeasure creased his features, Sadow growled, a sneer slipping over his face.
"GET BACK TO WORK!"
The command could have been heard wide across the base, the emphasis of the Force behind his words. Though, this did not satisfy Sadow. Examples must be made.
A snap-hiss rang through the air, a lightsaber appearing in the hands of the Executioner. It flashed briefly through the air, the saffron yellow blade clearing one mans head from his shoulders and leaving another with a gaping score across his chest.
That was all it took. As if it had never stopped, the activity within the HQ returned to full swing, the two departed officers were removed and replaced in a wink.
Under Sith rule, orders were Law.
-------------------------------------------------
In the wilds, beyond the areas of fighting, alien creatures moved through the underbrush.
Shuffling and nibbling, they moved en mass, three hundred deep, they moved cleared a path behind them, eating and consuming all that they could.
They reached farms, and cleared them of crops. They swarmed over harvester droids, biting couplings in half and chewing on the innards of their workings. They flooded houses and structures, consuming and being consumed. Like wire haired balls of furry they killed and were killed.
One mind drove them foreward, after all, they had been spawned of just one sporestine. Spurned on by the desire to spread, they did not remain long in any one place. They felt it in their blood. They knew they had to destroy and consume all they could before the flaw in their genetic make-up caused them all to die as one.
No discretion was made by the creatures, anything and everything they came across, they tried to eat. That which they could not, the passed by and left alone. Everything was their enemy. No room was spared for any Sith troops who may be unwary enough to get caught in their path. Even the cities would not be safe, it seemed there was no place they would not go.
In sight of the cities, it was only a matter of time.
------------------------------------------------------------
"My Lord."
This was from Srryrd, creator of the sporestine and pratitioner of Sith Alchemy. "The time to depart draws near."
Nodding, the Executioner knew the weight of his words.
Adressing a general, the Executioner gave the word to begin to draw back.
All that his troops had set out to do, had been done. The surface could no longer manage to provide and planetary sheilding, and all ground emplacements were downed, so no threat from planetary cannons.
It was time to draw his troops back off of the planet and back to their ships, this world could offer no resistance that would phase him. Not at this point.
"Your shuttle is ready, my Lord." Again from the groveling Srryrd, "It awaits you."
"Good. You will stay here, on the planet, and observe the final demise of your creation. Assuming you live that long."
Extreme shock, clear from his demeanour and through the Force, radiated from Srryrd. Alas, this was his fate.
Srryrd was, aside from himself, the only living being with full knowledge of the sporestine. Thus, Srryrd could recreate more, or exploit their weaknesses. The Executioner would not allow this.
The sporestine would die on this planet, and they would be forgotten. A secret weapon to be saved by Sadow himself. It was doubtful any visitors in future would find any sign of the sporestine, engineered to degrade and decompose at an alarming rate. Where they died they would release all the nutirents they had absorbed, and through their remains, would fertalise new growth. What it would grow, was unknown, an expierament still in progress...
And so it was that the conquor of this planet withdrew his troops back to their platforms of destruction. The dominator of this planet would return to his flagship and watch the final demise of this rock. He would paintently wait out the next 38 standard hours until the sporestine were dead. He would wait while his cannons continued to pummle the surface, he would wait for word of their surrender.
-----------------------
The call came even before the sporestine had expired, which was a bit of a surprise to Sadow. Though, what shocked him more was the wording of the surrender.
From the surface had come a call, not only of surrender, but a request for help. They begged of Sadow to call off his creatures before the planet was eaten clean. But then they had no clue as to the fate of the sporestine.
Sadow dispatched word to the surface, they would accept the surrender of planet and people, but no aid would come. He left indication of the new rule upon this planet. A rule of fist and pain.
His Dark Lord would earn a planet beaten into submission, crushed into form and domination. Sadow would leave this world a burning heap for his Master to survey. All surviors would be rounded up into camps, and executed. All those who were not spared as slaves or those who willingly would offer their service to the Sith Empire.
Later, occupation forces would be left on the planet, and the clean-up and engineering of this planet into the Sith would begin.
Executor Nox Anor-Sadow had stolen for his master, a planet and people. His first conquest a sucuess, there was no telling what path his future would take in this Empire. Though the Dark Force rippled with promise.

(applogise for the lack of spell check, it failed half-way through)
