The Kuar System

Senator Trenian Rudic sat quietly within the obscure passages of the underground cities of Kuar; it's mildew covered walls standing as the only indication of a once proud, and noble fortress to the Mandalore Clans of the Ancient Galaxy nearly four and a half thousand years earlier. The dominating caverns that once helf the towering cities of these Mandalore Warriors now bore nothing more than dust, and thick khaki colored soil, however ancient signs of life still flourished. What once stood as serene gardens of beautiful flowers and trees were now wilted roots surrounded by mold, and weeds. A few surviving buildings that had managed to stand the test of time loomed inteh distance, there ghostly presence giving the Trade Federation Senator an uneasy feeling, shivering deep within his Neimoidian skin. The Kuar System had been chosen as a center of opperations for Intense Upcoming Diplomatic Negotiations with the Tetan Confederacy within the closely neighboring system of Empress Teta. The Empress Teta System was actually made up of seven planets, many of which were now under direct Confederate rule.

It was all so facinating. The ancient worlds of the Mandalorian Warriors, and the Isolationistic Tetan People. Kuar, being merely a fraction of a hyperspace jump away from Cinnagar, Capital world of both the modern, and ancient Tetan people, posed as a perfect staging point for the Senator's mission.

"Senator Rudic," a tall human officer of the Trade Federation began as he entered the dimly lit reception room that the Senator had chosen to be the heart of the Strategic Command Base of Kuar. "We have important news."

The Senator nodded his head, a deep sigh escaping his lips as he pressed a small blue button on a Metallic box, a map of the Empress Teta, Mandalore, Onderon, and Kuar systems appearing before them in a unique Holographic display. "This better be good, Lieutenant. I've got important things to think about."

The Officer nodded his head, confident that his news was of the utmost importance. "Yes Sir. Recent intelligence reports have indicated that the Tetan System has been bloccaded, with the useage of the infamous Abolisher Class Cruisers. As you may know during the Galactic Defense Initiative's assault on Tava Yagen, and Mestra, Abolishers were used in the murder of several hundred Winger Corporation Miners, aboard seventeel peaceful, and defenseless vessels. This indication has presented us with the fact that we will not be able to enter Hyperspace into the Empress Teta System from any system that has Federation Forces present."

The Senator nodded his head, turning back to the holographic map displayed before him. Several small red dots indicating the positions of several Trade Federation Task Forces in the Onderon, Mandalore, and Kuar systems.

"Very well, Lieutenant. Keep me posted as the situation unfolds." The Lieutenant nodded his head, and exited the room as the routine Droideka Patrol passed by. The Senator hated those confounded machines. The noise they made was an annoyance to any man attempting to think clearly.

Senator Trenian looked over the map, the distinct figures of Trade Federation Flagships dotting the systems around him. He relished the thought that if the Tetan Confederacy launched a full scale attack against them, they would fall into a trap. As he pulled his formal robes around him, once more looking down at the map, he smiled, and began walking for the door.

Kuar / Empress Teta System Border - Two Hours Later

The Flagship of the Trade Federation's First Fleet, known as Sovereign Fleet among several Federation Officers, remaine dunder intense construction outside of Neimoidia, but in it's place, the massive Starlancer Class Battleship known as the Honorary Assault slowly manuvered it's way across the dark recesses of space along the Kuar System's border with the Empress Teta System followed closely by the First Trade Federation Fleet. Several hundred miles further sat the quiet, and undetected First Reconnaissance Fleet, the dark shadows of the NightHawk Class Corellian Corvettes seemingly invisible against the blackness of space. The Senator sat up in his seat aboard the Honorary Assault, opening a Channel to the Tetan System's Border Patrol.

"Greetings on behalf of the Trade Federation, and Leviathan Corporate Industries. I am Senator Trenian Rudic, Chief Diplomatic Representative of the Trade Federation. It is the wish of our esteemed Viceroy to meet with, ..." the Senator paused, realizing that he knew nothing about the Tetan Confederacy. There Isolationistic ways seemed to keep people from knowing too much about them. "... with your Leader."

<font color="#77A8C1">Commander Algar was one of the unfortunate souls to be assigned to the blockade patrol, part of the isolationist movement that had been announced to the galaxy some two month prior by Chancellor Stian himself. While it was work for the grunts of the Tetan Navy, Algar was happy to have it. He assured himself that with time in the system and perhaps some sort of event that would bring him out as an able bodied officer would get him on to one of the defense fleets, maybe a promotion. Days aboard the Abolisher Ripper were rather uneventful. The usual clearance of authorized ships was all the blockade saw. Today would be different.

A gaudy, monstrosity of a star ship appeared in the view ports of the Ripper this day. With it was a large contingence of ships that were barely at visible range, but sensor read them clear as day. Never did he expect to see a war fleet before him. Quickly he whirled in action; giving orders rapidly to the communications officer, buy time for tactical to gather information about the new blips on the radar.</font>

“Inform high command of the numbers we’re looking at,” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar started,</font> “a code red from what it’s looking like. Have the Interdictors prime their gravity wells. All ships shields up.” A<font color="#77A8C1">lgar patted the communications officer on the shoulder, leaving him to his work. Next he came to tactical.</font>

“Sir the lead ship is a Trade Federation Starlancer-Class Battleship. The others…” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar cut the tactical officer short.</font>

“Trade Federation?” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar questioned.</font> “Were we notified of the arrival of a diplomatic delegation?”

“Not to my knowledge sir.”

“Communications,” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar turned around looking back at where he had just been.</font> “Double check with High Command if we were suppose to be receiving a delegation from the Trade Federation today.” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar’s attention returned to the tactical officers report.</font> “Continue.”

<font color="#77A8C1">The tactical officer hesitated for a moment, trying to find where he left off.</font> “Uh… ah yes. The other ships are too far out of range at this time to get definite numbers, but they will be coming soon. (Hint, Hint: Post your fleet manifest.)”

“Very well,” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar nodded.</font>

“Commander,” <font color="#77A8C1">the communications officer called out.</font> “High Command has alerted the defense fleet to code red. They also noted that the Chancellor has not been expecting a delegation from the Trade Federation. All ships of the blockade fleet are reporting in with their acknowledgement and compliance with the orders.”

“Excellent, hail them,” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar turned walking forward to the view ports.</font>

“Uh… they are already hailing us sir,” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar spun around to face the communication officer once again.</font>

“Huh,” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar started,</font> “Curious, most curious. Patch them through,” <font color="#77A8C1">he said with a wave of his hand as he turned, continuing on his previous course.</font>

“Greetings,” <font color="#77A8C1">crackled over the bridge speakers,</font> “on behalf of the Trade Federation, and Leviathan Corporate Industries. I am Senator Trenian Rudic, Chief Diplomatic Representative of the Trade Federation. It is the wish of our esteemed Viceroy to meet with,” <font color="#77A8C1">the voice hesitated,</font> “with your leader.”

“Your leader?” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar utter aloud.</font> “Poor display of diplomacy.” <font color="#77A8C1">What ever their business, with the lack of disrespect towards the Chancellor achievements in political office, the Trade Federation would be lucky to a janitor at the Iron Citadel to negotiate with them. Algar shook his head, trying to gather words for a response.</font>

“Open channel. Senator Rudic, this is Commander Algar of the Tetan Abolisher Ripper. We are not aware of any invitation that may have been extended to the Trade Federation by the officer of…” <font color="#77A8C1">Algar stopped for a dramatic pause,</font> “of our leader.”

<font color="#77A8C1">The transmission had been sent before the entire bridge erupted in laughter.</font>

The Senator frowned as the roar of laughter from the Confederate Ship streamed through the command bridge. His frown soon turned into disgust, and that disgust into anger, however he suppressed that anger, to maintain a neutral position. The Tetan People were known for there Isolation from the test of the Galaxy. Perhaps there savage ways had gone unchanged since the times of Empress Teta, and her barbarism.

"Interesting, Commander. Very interesting. Your people would sooner turn away a friendly neighbor attempting to make contact with your glorious civilization, than listen. I take your lauchter as an insult to the pride of the Trade Federation."

The Senator paused, his hands resting on his obease stomach as he sat in the command chair of the Nemesis Class Star Destroyer.

"I'll tell you what. I'd like to extend an invitation to this leader you think so highly of. The Trade Federation is on a routine mission to the planet Kuar. We'll maintain a presence on the planet for some time. I assume that your pathet... erm, glorious civilization knows where that is? Or have you yet to explore beyond your own megar bounds?"

The senator looked around the bridge of the Nemesis Star Destroyer as the crew lightly chuckled, snickered, and whispered among one another.

As the communications link cut off, awaiting the arrival of a message from the Tetan ships, one of the Tactical officers approached the Senator, whispering casually.

"We've almost got a reading on a few of there ships, Senator. If you keep up this diplomacy, we may be able to get a fix on just how many ships they have patroling this part of the Tetan System."

The officer paused, before continuing.

"Just take it easy on them, Senator. You heard what the Viceroy said. Our tactical scanners indicate that they have shields raised, and weapons armed. They are ready for anything."

The obease senator nodded his head as he stuffed a green Corellian dish into his mouth, as he awaited hte Tetan reply.
