A warning before the storm (Closed, A RJO story)

OCC: This story is mainly for Gash Jiren but any Rouge Jedi are welcome to join in.

Osuss. A once bustling city not unlike Coruscant. But whereas Coruscant still has it's huge cityscape, Osuss is now just one big city ruin. Except for the small ray of light that sits on the surface. A small city that is still growing. This city belongs to the Rogue Jedi Order. They took this planet long after it had been devastated and started to rebuild. This was now the Rogue Jedi's home.

Sirex Gunn scanned the outskirts of the city as he sat on what was left of a skyscraper. His ship sat lay behind him. It was not unlike the Slave 1 that the bounty hunter's of Jango Fett's company used to use. Of course, they were all clones and so didn't care what their ships were called. He called his ship The Raven though. She was one of his only loves in life. The young Bounty Hunter had only just opened up for business. He advertised like all bounty hunters did on an untraceable link. A nearly untraceable link anyway. Just after he had posted his advertisement though the leader of the Rogue Jedi Order had decided to send a "warning". Sirex was sure that they wouldn't leave it at that. Jedi scum. He was convinced that they had traced him to his home. He needed to find out. His plan was to somehow break into the Rogue Jedi's Headqaurters and find out if they had traced him and if so, delete it. He knew he would have to move anyway if they had traced him. He couldn't take the risk so early on in his career. He also had something else planned though for a certain Master Jiren. Gash Jiren. Sirex checked all the equipment on his mandalorian suit and started his descent down the building, and his walk to the city.

Guised in shadow and guile, the ROI office contacted Gash as the sun began to set. The Jedi Master had been expecting the comm call- he'd spent most of the latter half of that day reviewing the Rogue Order Intelligence protocols for situations such as this; the conclusion he'd come to was to do as he always did.

Follow his gut.

A man landing a ship on the planet and departing in a Mandalorian Armor suit wouldn't be too hard to miss.

Gash tapped the console's 'recieve call' button, inserting the index finger of his metallic, prosthetic hand into the O/P outlet, his arm's mind/machine interface immediately bringing the transmission's specifics to his mind.

'Gash?'

"Commander Roland."

'He's moving. Descending the building.'

"Armed?"

'As far as we can tell.'

"He's leaving his ship?"

'Yes.'

"Those things have a recall link to the suit. Fly in a squad of Wookiee High Guards in a covert land speeder. Have them do as much damage as possible, and prepare for ambush."

'Yes, sir.'

The whine of the OsSec Speeder's repulsorlifts caused the dilapadated building to shudder, knocking dust from it's ancient ceilings. In an act of irony credited to fate, this building had be been one of the first built, when Ossus had first been settled as a Jedi citadel. A central command building, of sorts.

Six Wookiees disembarked from the speeder, moving with ease and efficiency into a defensive parameter around the vessel- a Firespray-class patrol vessel, likely customized and highly dangerous.

While four Wookiees set themselves in defensive positions equidistant from the ship, attaching vibroblade bayonettes to their bowcaster rifles, the remaining two Wookiee High Guards tentatively approached the craft. One removed a welding tool, a plasma blade weapon not unlike a small lightsaber, and cut a small hole in the hull of the ship's side. His partner pulled a compact thermal detonator from his belt, activating and tossing the small weapon into the hole.

Hollaring, the Wookiee crouched and covered his ears, as did his comrades. The resulting explosion blasted small flecks of molten metal and fire out from the hull puncture, melting some of the durasteel.

Not enough to disable the ship, but enough to keep it there until minor repairs were conducted.

And enough to bring Sirex Gunn back to the rooftop location of his ship.

The team leader, a large Wookiee with tawny skin and several hairless scars, brought a comm to his mouth, groaning Wookiee speach over the commlink.

[Talon Control, squad one has commenced Operation Cobra.]

[Acknowledged.]

The wookies stood on top of the srelict skyscraper making alterations to the ship. They were oblivious as to what ws about to happen.

Sirez Gunn suddenly leapt up from the side. A cable cme out of his right wrist and around one of the wookies neck. As he choked this wookie he shot another one dead. He was suddenly flung over by the wookie but still he choked. A third wookie tried to speak into his comm but had it kicked out of his hand. The first wookie was fading and eventually he collapsed. As Sirex was disconnecting the cable the tall scarred wookie ran up to him and punched him with brutal force. He flew back still attached to the dead wookie's neck. The leader was moving with fast pace. Sirex only just managed to disconnect himself as a paw went flying down. He jumped up and kicked the wookie. It didn't seem to rven sting the wookie as Sirex found himself in a heated battle of punches and blocks. He was suddenly propelled back and into the arms of the two remaining wookies. The scarred one walked up to him and smacked him with the butt of his bowcaster. Sirex was out straight away.

OOC: lol, I only killed 3.

'...Three were killed.'

Gash nodded, gazing intently across his desk. The droid facing him was an old companion- D31, the first droid activated, four years before, on board Recon Klain's Carrack Cruiser, when Gash had been a Sith. Heading for Ziost, D31 had been activated for the protection of the two descendants of the Jiren-Klain family, and ancient clan which had held power on Asthentia for thousands of years- though neither had known such at the time.

DeeThree, as he was known, had been the first consciousness which had spawned an entire race, a soldier society which had assimilated itself into the modern soldiers of the New Republic, the Panther Battledroids. Some of the droids, the specific programming of whom caused them to "mature" and grow psychologically as they aged, had transferred their consciousnesses into the newer Panther Battledroid models; D31 and many of the other original, more advanced Cobra Battledroids had remained in their original form to head up OsSec.

"Unfortunate. I will write the letters to their parents shortly... Gunn is in the lower levels, I assume?"

'Yes.'

"Good."

Gash entered the cell quietly. It was a small, rock cubicle, a place originally part of the Ossan underground travel system. Since it had been uncovered in Gash's first journey to Ossus, the world which had once been the capital of the Jedi Order, the column of rock rooms had been converted to cells to hold prisoners. It was largely humane; a soft cot, peace and silence, but more than adequate light.

Sirex Gunn lay, unconscious, on the cot of the cell. His armor had been stripped from him, his weapons denied. He wore now plain navy pants and a shirt.

"Wake up, Mr. Gunn."

Sirex Gunn slowly opened his eyes. He couldn't see very well. It didn't matter wether you're armour was made from the strongest metal. A wookie's force is a wookie's force.

"Wake up, Mr. Gunn"

Gunn opened his eyes fully and saw him. The man from the message. The man who had tried to stop him so early on. He stood there, proud and tall in his uniform. Gunn slowly sat up.

"Mr. Jiren is it?"

"Yes." Gash smiled slowly and stepped over towards the second, unoccupied bunk, opposite Gunn's. His navy robe swayed, and folded gently as he sat down, fixing Sirex with a crimson-eyed glare. The bounty hunter, though he chose not to betray it, was mildly suprised by the fact that the stare did not betray anger.

Gash sighed, and spoke again, his Asthentian royal accent filling the room with smooth tones.
"You killed three of my men, Mr. Gunn. That was... unfortunate."

Gunn had thought of attacking him. But thought better of it. His eyes, they did not seem to want a fight. Not yet anyway. Gunn decided to play it out calm for now.

"If I hadn't, they would have killed me. The tall scarred one nearly did."

Gash shook his head. "A good bounty hunter should have a sharper eye, Mr. Gunn. Their bowcasters were set on stun."

Gash noticed the man's eyes, carefully surveying him. They seemed to bear the promise of a fight- if not right at that moment, then in future. Sirex Gunn was sizing him up; though his thoughts seemed to belie that notion, noting that he intended no fight at the moment.

Gash's hand moved to his belt, triggering a flinching reflex from Gunn. The Jedi Master flipped out a blaster pistol before the bounty hunter could react, but turned it around to show his intentions were clean.

Gunn looked suspiciously at Gash as the Rogue Jedi handed him the blaster pistol.

"The best way to allow a man to trust your intentions is to even the odds. So; I have my lightsaber, you have a blaster pistol. Man to man, then?" Gash chuckled quietly. "Why did you come to my planet, Sirex Gunn?"

"I was...curious. I've never been to this planet before. I have been to many. This one should be mainly reserved for scum."

Gunn looked straight into the eyes of Gash Jiren as he spoke but those red, peircing eyes didn't even flicker.

"In case you're wondering, I haven't come for a bounty. Now I have answered your question Jiren you will answer one of mine. What do you have against me?"

"You're like what I once was." Gash stated, simply.

When the questioning gaze Sirex shot him made it clear that Gash's meaning wasn't, the Jedi Master smiled and clarified.
"A vagabond, a rebel. Unpredictable, often violent, but cold and calculating.

"I have undergone a metamorphosis, Sirex Gunn; where once was a man who would kill on a second's notice, with no home or direction, there is a stable leader, a warrior of good, an admiral. Someone people rely on.

"So when I see shadows of my former self, phantoms of me as a Sith, they disturb me. Because for most, there is no happy ending, no change of heart. Only darkness."
