A Quest of Conquest

The atmosphere around Corellia was the same as usual, at least in this part of the planet. The place smelt of fear covered in purfume with small whore houses, their wares displayed hanging out of second floor windows, drinking holes and gambling dens littering the streets. And down each alley was the loan shark, the dull glint in his eye showing he enjoyed the customer who could not return his loan payments. Urchins littered the streets their skills with their hands well known, and indicated usually by age.

But it was the fear that was what drew Lupercus here. Down one alley he saw he a prostitute, her face overly covered with cheap makeup, being beaten by her 'employer' as a client watched off to one side. Another alley would see passed out spice addicts, who helped the urchins survive by passing out and leaving their pocketbooks over to all.

But the next alley, now that was empty. Lupercus turned down it and with a walk bred of confidence disappeared down some hidden steps into what was one of the more respected bars in the area. The smell that assaulted his senses was of sweat and blood, mingled with a faint whiff of alcohol. Approaching the bar, he ordered his usual shot of tequila before turning back to watch the tabled area of the bar.

Hmm. What do we have here? The young woman thinks to herself as she watches Lupercus stroll into the seedy bar. Eye candy. Just what the place needed. However, she was in the middle of a semi-high stakes Sabacc game and her eyes didn't linger for long. Perhaps later she'd finish drinking him in.

Glancing to the Dug seated across from her, she tosses in a raise of 500 credits. They'd been playing for the past few hours and the pot for this hand had now topped 3, 750 credits.

In her hand, she holds the Five of Coins, Eleven of Flasks, Comm. of Coins and the Mist. of Flasks. Giving her a total of 18 points. Corellian rules of Sabacc always did seem to look down favorably upon the Dark Jedi; however her poker face gave nothing away.

The Dug scowls threateningly across the table to her; her hand moves to the metallic hilt of her saber.

"I take it you don't like the hand you've been dealt." The dealing droid proceeds to drone on and on about the rules in the variant of Corellian Sabacc; Syren and the Dug pay the droid no mind.

Tossing his cards onto the table, the Dug begins a long slew of curses in his own tongue; to which Syren looks to him dryly.

"You didn't just accuse me of cheating..." She states this, rather than asks. "You do realize that I can slice you in thirds before you ever realize what has hit you, do you not?" There's no threat to her tone; more like a promise.

Indignantly, the Dug walks off on his hands with his feet held up in the air before him and heads to the bar, cursing her name the whole while. He'd be back, after a few more drinks.

Syren motions to the droid to take the credit chits from the table and deposit it into her account. A few more drinks herself, then she is off to do a little 'work' of her own. But, since the night is still young, she might as well enjoy some of it.

As Lupercus watched over the bar, he saw the disagreement on the sabbacc game. He smiled slightly as he saw the woman calmly stare down the Dug, a smile on her face the whole time. She seemed confident in an alluring way. Lupercus picked up his double of tequila and walked over to the table as the Dug retreated.

"You know, you really should have just sliced him open, saves trouble later..."
