OK so here's my pick of C-3P0 doing the robot... but he's not really doing the robot.. but I just got this version of Flash like yesterday and I started making this on my lunch break and the fact that I can do any kind of animation at this point excites the hell out of me.. but check it out...

Ya not so much dancing but the fact that I can even make it move by its joints is damn cool... and yes Flash is fun.. I will be playing with it a lot more until I can build something absolutely badass.

Set it to some music and it would be twice as groovy.

Nice work.

Yup.. I'm gonna work on some more tonight and try to make it look a little higher quality.. spend a little more time on the actual drawing..

I basically just threw that picture together and concentrated more on the animation.. but I learned a lot from making it so I think my next effort will be a lot better.

OK Ren this is what I don't understand and maybe you can help me.. I've used previous versions of Flash.. I think Flash 4 was the last version I used.. from what I remember in that version of Flash when you made a movie clip the only portion of the movie that played when you viewed the actual film was the stage.. and now this doesn't appear to be the case...

I'm working on like a death star trench type scene and there's a looping background so that it looks like my X-wing is moving.. but when I watch the movie it looks ridiculous because it shows everything off-stage as a part of the movie.. so there's this death star trench background looping back and forth.

Does that make sense? I don't know what to do.. I think I heard you can use mask layers but the background won't let me mask it.. and that's the layer I'm having the most trouble with.. any help you or anyone can provide will be most excellent.
