X3 (spoilers)

Saw it opening day. Liked it quite a bit, though I don't think it was as good as X2. Lots of faults (Juggernaut, a mutant? What?), lots of plot holes (why not just drop the bridge on Alkatraz and be done with it?) and other stuff, but for the most part I thought it was an enjoyable watch.

I missed Nightcrawler.

He didn't like the make-up from X2 and the producers wouldn't cut him a big enough payday for dressing up again. Alan Cumming made the right choice, I think... being that everyone I've talked to noticed his absense.

Juggernaut as a mutant... meh, same thing Bendis did with Ultimate Juggernaut. Besides, if the Pheonix is going the Dark way, then why not? I mean, sure... if they wanted to write in the Shi'Ar then, maybe, I could see writing Marko as the mystically powered Juggernaut... but who has time?

Indeed there were bits and pieces that left something to be desired, but over-all I was quite impressed with the scale of the thing. Word on the street is that Brian Singer signed on for X4 but Marvel has yet to option the rights, dunno if that's true or not...

"Homosapiens and your guns," struck me as an Odd thing for Magneto to say, considering that, back at camp, Wolverine went mowing through about a dozen mutants armed with shotguns and such... wtf?

My biggest area of concern going in was The Beast played by Kelsey. I'm happy to say that my concerns were unfounded. He did an excellent job with the role written for him.

Good film.

Did everyone stay through the credits?

Yeah, that was an interesting little post-credit tidbit.

Not me, but I later read about it. Makes me wonder if the next movie, provided there is one, would be about the Astral Plane and the Ghost King.

I missed it. It should be ready for when I get home... which proves that, though they suck, a telesync recording can serve a purpose.

I thought X3 was going to be the last "X-Men" movie, and the series would be carried on with individual character films.

Well, there are two possible plots I can think of off-hand that would have to be more than individual character films, they would have to be all character films, and the two I'm thinking of is Apocalypse, and the Sentinels.

The Shi-Ar could be a Jean Gray aka Phoenix thing, while the Astral Plane could be done either with Xavier, or maybe the combo of Angel and Psylocke, and I hope we see some character movies having to do with Jubilee and Gambit, two prominent X-men not see in any of the movies.

I thought after seeing the movie that there was huge potential for a prequel, but that may just be me.
