I have a 150 gig 10,000 rpm HD. I use that for my games. I download music and and pron (of the non-gay type) and keep that on my external drive, but that's about it. Where do I get good quality movies and tv shows? I have 500 gigs but have never filled more than 50.
Whoa! Terabyteness!
iTunes.
/me = poor college student?
I'll probably fill it up with games and partition it to add a few linux distros to it. If I can figure out how to do that properly without screwing up my computer. From skimming a few tutorials, that part seems the trickiest.

Hmm, I think I might have to return this one. It shuts down after 30 minutes, regardless of whether I'm using it or not.
EDIT: I think I might get a WD MyBook Essential 1 TB instead. It costs about $20 more than I paid for mine, so it seems like a good deal. And, from what I've read, it's quiet, turns on/off automatically WITH the computer (not on its own) and automatically backs up files as they're saved on your computer.

I've just got tons of networked storage spread out across several PCs. Works for me :)
The MyBook is solid.
Irtar is solid.
Damn straight! This thing is like heaven. It's silent,
And Best Buy got swindled via pricematch. Go NewEgg! :P
So, at the end of the day, WD wins and Hitachi fails!
My MyBook turns itself on and off all the time. It's annoying as hell. Don't know how to fix it. Was good for the first year though.
Well, that sucks. Don't know what you can do to fix it. This one doesn't seem to turn off unless I unplug it or turn my computer off.
