There's already a thread on this, but I thought I'd get your attention.

As part of the first TRF vB portal update, I need opinions on the movie Troy. Those of you who have seen can post your thoughts on it here, which will then be assimilated into a segment for the TRF portal.

Go!

I haven't seen it, and I'm not going to waste my money. You seen one hopping-kermit attack, you've seen them all.

I'll see Shrek 2 instead.

I heard the comment made that homosexual males should see the movie for the gratuitous buttox shots of Brad Pitt and Orlando Bloom.

I thought it was a good movie. It looked like they tried to take all the gods and goddesses out of it and try to portray it as how it could have happened, rather than the way it's written in the Iliad, specifically that three shallow goddesses obsessed with their beauty started the whole thing in motion.

But they left in a few references to them actually being real - Achilles says he's met them, and he actually speaks to his mother (who is a goddess), which kind of defeated the purpose.

I think Penny Arcade said it best.

no. My sister is the one into Greek Mythology. I'm only into Pre-1950 modern wars.
