...and yet some people say global warming is "just a theory"...

...Maybe because it really is just a theory?

Park has a point there. Then again, the earth is warmer than it was about five to six million years ago which, if you think about it, isn't that long ago.

Actually, melting of glaciers and icecaps have been detected, and sea levels are on the rise.

This is just a theory in such a way as gravity is in fact just a theory - if you can find something to disprove it, then sure, it's wrong, but good luck with that.

And the difference between temperature changing through millions of years and a couple decades is a very different thing.

The best part about global warming is that if it does cause melting and flooding and chaos, then I get to go 'I told you so'. If it doesn't, then hey, who can complain for disaster NOT swarming ashore?

Well don't forget we are still coming out of the last Ice age, so melting of the caps and a rising sea level is normal thus far for such a cycle. People who don't know crap about the history of the planet just come up with random theories like Global Warming to where it makes sense for them.

Yep. I wonder how many people realize almost the entire world was tropical in the time of the dinosaurs? The position of the Earth hasn't changed so if the weather patterns begin to resettle to 'Pre-Ice Age' a hot Earth has to be expected.

But you have to admit, we aren't exactly keeping the Earth the same as we found it (humans are aliens theory), and when you consider just how little it would take to destroy the human race in terms of climate change, we probably should be...

To tell you the truth, we're still in an ice age. An ice age is any period of time that there is ice on earth. :yuck
