It seems that everyone, apart from the US and the UK, knew that there weren't any WMD's in Iraq.
Oh wait, we did, actually, but we went in anyway, tally ho and all that.
in fact, thats exactly why we DID go in, 'cos we knew we wouldn't be stopped, unlike North Korea of course, because, jesus christ those guys actually have nukes are you crazy!?
As for Al-Qaede or however its spelt, it was probably never in Iraq, until we showed up.
Even then, I think the threat from both Osama and Al-Qaede has been hugely over-rated. A mistake actually, because now we've given what was a largely unknown terrorist group acting on the fringes far more publicity than it could ever have dreamed of, and made a martyr out of some beardy old man living in a cave whose involvement in 911 was probably marginal at best.
Oh and torture people long enough, and you'll hear whatever you want from them, eventually.
As for 911 itself, they got lucky, and caught you (and everybody else for that matter) with our pants down.
I'd like to see what was done with Iraq done to Mexico now. Go in, take out the corrupt goverment, the corrupt sections of the military, the drug lords and any insurgents they may bring about, then rebuild the country into a prosperous and secure nation (a work still in progress in Iraq) in which it's citizens don't feel the need to flee to the United States for better work or more peace.
By whom? I mean there isn't a nation or group of nations on Earth, in history, fit for the job. People, that is to say the peoples indiginous to the affected areas, tend to take badly the idea that another nation, say a westernized superpower, is going to come in and make everything better. Picket fences, swimming pools and SUV's for everyone! (Except that, even at home that dream is rarely realized and the vast majority of the population lives in poverty or near poverty)
While we're at it Park, since you had such a bright idea, how about those radical factions and fundamentalists who think the exact same thing should be done to the 'States (and other Western nations)? Come in and remove our corrupt governments and establish a stable country?
See the problem is with assholes; everyone has one and they all stink. Oh yeah, also Park... you are an idiot.
We have the experience from Iraq and from WW2. While I don't approve the of the methods we used to take down Japan, we did a pretty damn good job of helping them to get back on their feet. As I already mentioned, Iraq is still a work in progress, and probably will be for some time to come.
The two biggest problems in Mexico right now are the little drug warlords running around tearing up the countryside, and the lack of good jobs for her citizens to make a decent living out of. There will be a lot more work involved beyond just using a military solution to take care of the short term problems.
Funny way of them saying that that is their objective. Last time I checked, "destroy", "eradicate", and "ethnic cleansing" had a different definition to the ones you listed above.
I would try to argue with you over this issue, but quite frankly, until you step out of the land where this issue isn't affecting you, and see for yourself the problems firsthand, your just not qualified to make any statements with substance behind them.
I counter your above statement by providing evidence of a previously iterated comment to the contrary. You are an idiot ergo, having stated as much, your proposal that I am not prepared to make any statements with substance behind them is incorrect.
