I'm sure some of you read the Phillip Pullman novel as a kid. In any event, whether you've read it or not, the new movie in theaters is definately worth your time. As an avid fan of the books, I was impressed with how faithful they managed to make it, though I had some nitpicky complaints about a few changes they made. :)

The film is very good, though, and the effects are spectacular. Go see it. Like, now.

I read the novels last month when I saw some of the trailers for the movie and wanted to see what it was about. I liked the books, the first one was excellent, the rest sorta dragged on but it was a pretty good series.

I'm hoping the Nicole Kidman Curse doesn't weigh this movie down though..

I wonder how long it will be before a roleplaying site pops up for it.

I thought Nicole Kidman did a very good job as Mrs. Coulter... quite pleased with all the acting, in fact.

Ann Coulter's in that shit? I guess Nicole Kidman kinda looks like her. Not really but it's a movie, what do you expect?

how about a goose instead? :: wiggles fingers ::

and I didn't mean Nicole can't act, she's a great actress, I actually like her alot but for the past couple years she's been attributed with a movie curse. I think ever since Cold Mountain she hasn't had what's deemed a hit movie. Most of them barely, or didn't, break even in the box offices... and that's not a good thing for her career. Personally I can't wait for her to go back to a redhead, she's smashing as a ginger and should just own it, she doesn't look as good as a blonde.

It's Scientology voodoo come to haunt her.
