So if you own a TV set, but don't have it connected to cable, you have to pay? What if the cops raid your house and find an old set in the attic? Do they still fine you?

Nice system, otherwise... I hate commercials.

The BBC doesn't use cable, it is broadcasted over regular airwaves, like ABC, NBC, and CBS.

Unless its BBC America, which comes in via satellite/ digital cable
