Do you feel like a puppy? Is the mere mention of this newest instalment of the SG saga enough to make you piddle on the carpet?

If so, you are not alone!

Stargate has arguably become one of the most succeussful Sci-Fi series on TV. I think the only one that compares would be Star Trek and it's numerous spin-offs.

Star Trek TOS
Star Trek TAS
Star Trek TNG
Star Trek DS9
Star Trek Voyager
Enterprise
+
Movies

VS

Stargate (Film)
Stargate SG1
Stargate Atlantis
Stargate Universe
+
Movies (TV/DVD release)

Did I miss anything?

Depends. Would Power Rangers count as Sci-Fi?

As far as series go, perhaps Superman in it's many incarnations (Adventures of Superman, animated series, Lois and Clarke and Smallville) and maybe Buffy the Vampire Slayer (I think it had a spinoff or two & movie).

Stargate also had an animated series as well.. I've never seen it and have forgotten what it's called (Stargate Worlds?) but I believe it only lasted one season.

I am looking forward to the new Stargate series but I am leery because it looks like they are filming it in the same dark wet look as Battlestar that I found annoying... more drama than I like in my scifi, I want action adventure..

That was fucking amazing.

Dark, dramatic... it fills that gap left by BSG.

The series premiere, at two hours, could have been twice as long and I wouldn't have grown bored. If the rest of the series keeps up like this...

I expect great things.

Also; what a cast!

I lost interest in Stargate when the original went off the air and all I had left was that crappy Atlantis. If you tell me I get Doctor Jackson and McGuyver back I'll watch it.
