Book 8 of 9 in the LotF series. Was it a good book? I don't like the Jacen solo plotline at all, but there are other stories going on within this story that I do like, and I think other members of the board who aren't reading the series would actually like reading this book.

There was a ton, and I mean, a ton of Mandalorian in this book. Without wanting to reveal anything else as potential spoilers, I'll skip a few paces before continuing.

Ugh, first things first. Casualty list. Who's going in, and who's going out? Star Wars is up to strike two now for eliminating my favorite characters. First they do away with Mara Jade, and now they have done away with Gilad Pelleaon. Shot to death by Jacen's new apprentice, Tahiri Veila, onboard his flagship, the Turbulent class destroyer Bloodfin.

Admiral Daala is back, called in By Gil before his death, and her flagship is his old ship, the Chimera. She is now working with the Mandalorians.

The Imperial Remnant is working with Jacen Solo now, espically since a good number of their high ranking moffs were butched by Boba Fett, Jaina Solo, and other Mandalorian warriors when they stormed the Bloodfin following Gil's assassination.

Jaina Solo and Boba Fett. Yes, she went to him to try and get him to train her to take out Jacen Solo. And he agreed to train her. Oh, and Boba Fett is re-united with Sintas Vel, his wife who was encased in carbonite for thirty years before he found and released her.

Oh, and Fett's granddaughter, Mirta Vel, is married to another Mandalorian. Bob'ika has some semblance of a family again. There is just...a ton of Mandalorian stuff in this book.

Oh, one of the Mandalorians turned out to be a Jedi General from the clone wars. His current name is Gotar.

On news of the other fronts....

Admiral Niathal splint from Jacen during an assault on Fondor, and set up a GA goverment in exile on the planet, leaving Jacen in complete control of the "official" GA back on Coruscant.

And finally, Ben has gathered his evidence, with help from Shevu, implacating once and for all that Jacen did indeed kill Mara, so now Luke, Leia, Han, and Jaina know the truth, and Jacen's real Sith name.

And thats about it. An except from the end of the book reveals that the final book, Invincible will have Fett and Jaina working together again in defending the Roche Asteriod Belt from an Imperial invasion.

I gave up on this new novel line around the time Chewie died (if not that same book, then the one after it), so I don't have any real idea what plotlines you're talking about... but, from the sounds of it, I'm kind of glad.

jacen is an uber god in this one who can go back in time and is a manakin skywalker clone.

and actually chewie died in the njo series which is two series behind this one.

this series sucks, just like the swarm war, just like the njo, and most everything happening after thrawn.

i don't know why i keep reading this shit.

I was reading US Weekly in line at the grocery store the other day and asked myself the same question. It is a sad day in the world of fan-dom when Star Wars, in any capacity, can be likened to the likes of a rag like US Weekly.

Read it today.

There was alot of Mandalorian stuff in Revelations. I think Beff would like reading about that.

The writer of Revelations is the same as the Republic Commando novels (Triple Zero, etc..) and it's a nice tie-in. I thought it interesting that she continues her literary attack on the Jedi Order people as moral cowards (with good reason) and had a nice dose of cynical reality to imagine why people still support the downward slide of government.

The Jacen thing is stupid as is his "darth" name but I really never liked the character anyway. I also disliked the fact that the Skywalker/Solo families just can't get a break. There's more that happen to them than an afternoon soap opera.

Dala coming back was a suprise as I thought she had died but I was disappointed with Palleon dying.
