Next book came out in the Legacy of the Force series. It was a good book, IMO, a lot of stuff happened, all fast action and pretty intense, didn't get much character development done in the book, everything was going too fast pace for that.
Now for the spoilers
As far as characters biting the dust, Cal Omas goes down, sort of assisted suicide via Ben Skywalker.
Finally, some freaking deviation from the Prequels.
Alema Rar discovers a Sith cell on Korriban that was pulling some strings behind Lumiya's and Vergere's back, and a new order that calls it's self, The One, or something like that.
Big battle scene in the end, Jacen continues descending into darkness, and came within a handspan of dragging Ben down with him.
Basically, big battle scene at the end, Jacen attempts to execute a Base Delta Zero on Kashyyyk, Luke and Ben both fight it out with Jacen, Darth Caedus is injured pretty badly but survives, Tenel Ka learns the truth and attempts to force Jacen to surrender.
Setting into next book: The Galatic Alliance is now outnumbered, with the Jedi and the Hapans having gone neutral after the Kashyyyk debacle, and other systems defecting in droves to the Confederation. A sneak peek at the next novel sees where the Imperial Remnant and the Corporate Sector are tettering on joining the Confederation as well.
And that's just scratching the surface. Like I said, a lot of stuff went down in this book.
