Star Wars: Empire at War

The only other comparable Star Wars RTS would be Galactic Battlegrounds, which used the Age of Empires engine (which sucks).

One of the problems with Age of Empires is it puts too much focus on gathering resources and creating upgrades, and not enough on the action.

One of my biggest problems with the game is the air units. They functioned like regular ground units, and would fly right up to the target, hover and shoot, giving the anti-air units all day to set up and shoot the fighters down.

There was no strafing or in the case of the bomber units, no bomber runs or anything. The bombers were like stronger, but slower, fighters. Pissed me off.

Anyway, I hope this new one is better...

Jeez, they make a new video game every three seconds.

Enjoy spending your money.

Anyone currently into Galaxies? I mean, I don't expect anyone to have that much time on their hands (for TRF and MMO) but... is anyone?

Jump to Lightspeed looks very sick and starship combat is damn cool.

Ya I've been playing Galaxies for a while... Beff if you want kick ass Star Wars starship combat... stay the hell away from Jump to Lightspeed because that isn't what you'll find there... it's totally lame. Everyone was so excited for that stupid expansion to come out and I probably stopped playing it after about 20 minutes. Literally stopped playing it as in I wasted $30 bucks on it and I haven't touched it since then... $30 bucks in 20 minutes.. normally when I spend that much in such a short time the "sucking" is the good part...
