So DICE is making a new Battlefront, as I'm sure most of you have heard. One second while I give a shout-out to OS who, back in the day, physically mailed me cracked CDs of Battlefront 1 (I believe it was 1), which made my year. I still have those CDs somewhere, even though when I play Battlefront now it's off of the Steam copy I got a while back.
I'm a bit Battlefield fan, and while I have my gripes with Battlefield 3 and 4, I think they're amazing games to play. The new levels of deformable terrain in Battlefield makes me very giddy for Battlefront. Blowing holes through buildings, walls, even the ground? Yes please! Commander mode? Ooooh yes. On my pessimistic side, even the bigger maps of Battlefield 4 are too small for the jets in the game. Star Wars demands much larger areas for air fight, especially for space battles. The controls and dogfight interaction is there though, pew pew pew.
Not much real news to report for Battlefront, other than it's a total franchise reboot, and that it'll be "DICE's interpretation of what Battlefront should be". I'm pretty much OK with that, even if it will come with the launch-day bugs DICE is famous for (and even more famous for fixing fairly quickly).
I'd link this but the BBCode seems to dislike Wikipedia's use of parens in the URL. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Star_Wars:_Battlefront_(2015_video_game)
