Yeah Charley is getting pretty powerful on visible satellite imagery. It has a well defined eye, and a very beautiful structre (at least to a hurricane hunter like me it's beautiful). Reminds me of Hurricane Gilbert back in '88.

Strike one Zark, no need to throw out derogatory lingo, even if your post was hillarious in premise.

:( Wait...I-I'm "hillarious"?! You like me! You really like me! Now change my name!

EDIT: You know, this same thing happened to me with Gash when I said "Japs". Only Gash didn't give me a strike, he just started yelling at me about being an "ignorant fuck"...

Charley is now hitting mainland cuba. Heavy storms are going through the Keys, and southern Florida now. Still 105mph, still forecast to become a Category 3 hurricane, before it hits Pinellas county/hillsborough county. They expect for the entire Pinellas county to be covered in the storm surge, including St. Petersburg, Clearwater, etc. About half of Tampa will be covered with storm surge as well. Over 3 million people have now been evacuated, with more to follow tomorrow.

Well, it's past Cuba, and instead of slowing down, the storm has only gotten stronger instead. Should hit us about 8 PM.

Charley is now a Category 4 Hurricane with 145mph winds, and gusts up to 165mph. The Hurricane is now aiming for Port Charlotte, and Ft. Myers, so it may be worse off for us. The storm is spawning tornadoes off of it's rainbands, more than two dozen warnings have been issued so far around noon time and afternoon.
