Just for the record, while I do agree with the logic, I also still enjoy role-playing, as I have for almost 5 years now, as a fantasizing and writing hobby. Or at least I like it enough to found a role-playing community, if an inactive one.

I think of roleplaying as a good way to test the waters, to see if people are actually interested in reading what you write.

I always considered roleplaying not as a novel, but more of writing a fantasy world down as though it were history. Constructing your own timeline and hoping to make your mark memorable to generations to come.
