Ok, I know that there are a few Texans here, so this is mainly for you guys. One of New Zealand's premiere rock bands, Pluto, seem to be playing at an event called SXSW on March 16-20. God only knows why. I've only seen them live once, but it was awesome, and if any of you Americans out there have any chance at all of going to this show I'd strongly suggest you do. Now, if you end up exploring that site you'll see that they've only just released thier second album. Despite this they've been "on the scene" for five or six years already, and have spent time in NZ, London, and other fancy shmancy places around the world, so they're a well-experienced band. I remember buying their debut (redlightsyndrome) back in 2001, and I still pick it up every now and then to give it a listen. Very good album.
Their new one came out about a week or two ago, and I'm buying it tomorrow. Maybe I'll review it...later. But it'll probably be too awesome for words, so I doubt it.
What I'm trying to say, anyway, is that if you live in Texas or any of the neighbouring towns, make the trip and see this band! I promise you won't regret it.
Failing that, just buy both their albums (the new one being "Pipeline Under the Ocean"). Or just download a few songs (good ones from redlightsyndrome are "Moscow Snow", "She's Jive", "Hey Little", "Bananas In The Mist" and "Stick With It", not in any particular order).
