My Hobby: 3D Modeling, what I've been doing..

Though I do want to apologize for not RPing much in the past two weeks or so, things between Slaskia and I have been taking up that time (both family related, and game related)

However, other than having the occasitional writers block, I do work on 3D models when the mood strikes.

Many of the ship RnD's I created were actually inspired by the models I've created(Example: Sumina), though I rarely show those models because I've never been able to highly detail them.

This thread was created both as a means for TRF members to see what my hobby is, but to also see improvements done on existing models. This is not professional work, I'm an amature but I do hope that some of you enjoy them.

I do hope you visit this thread frequently, as I might not reply in relation to updates. Do note, that along with reserved ships for my own faction, these models have there own names.

Certain names might not correspond to TRF (Example: INF-Sharia, or the Internode Federation Battleship Sharia used in a combination RP between several friends of mine)

NOTE: Some of the names of the files may be misleading (Like Stratafortress) I do not make exact replica's of actual current day navel vessels or aircraft.

Scimiter : http://www.starfleetplatoon.com/~suisfonia/TRF/Scimiter.jpg

NOTE!: Cortex and Cynax Station are FULL renders! They are also COMPLETE models, meaning no additional 'mesh' work will be done, but I may enhance to look a bit more realistic.

Sweeper: http://www.starfleetplatoon.com/~suisfonia/TRF/Sweeper.jpg

Unrelated to TRF:

INF-Sakura: http://www.starfleetplatoon.com/~suisfonia/TRF/2.jpg

INF-Sharia: http://www.starfleetplatoon.com/~suisfonia/TRF/INF-Sharia.jpg

Note: The Sharia use's the same model as the Scimiter as I based them both off the INF-Sakura's saucer section.

One of my most asked questions is: Why are all of them unfinished?

Answer: for the most part they 'are' finished, all that's left is for me to put textures and color them a bit. The only time I go into exthreme detailing is relation to models that I'm really impressed with (like the Cynax station and the Cortex) those two models there I've been touching up for the past year before actually putting them to use on this board.

If ya have any questions, don't hesitate to post them. All of them will be completed

There are more models than just these, but these are the one's I have a screen shot of.

I wasn't sure if this belonged here or OOC... though feel free to shoot me if I got it wrong :p

Pretty neat. Did you make those textures?

Wow, Kashlion, those are really good. I wonder, could I impose upon you to create a few for me? The fighters I've posted in the R&D forum specifically could use your touch - I created the pictures in paint, and they're not very good.

I'd pay you in brownie points, of course.

@ Corise

No, the textures are not of my creation. Those I found on a sci-fi board, some of them work rather well, while others don't.

@ Wes

Sure, just e-mail me the pictures (or upload them somewhere) and I'll go from there :)

And thanks for the comments :)

Sweet!

Here's the first one, the TIE Schutzstaffel fighter.

Those protrusions on the side, the ones that look like long pylons, are supposed to be Interceptor-style solar panels.

#2, the TIE Hurrikane:

#3, the TIE Storm Bomber:

#4, probably the hardest, the TIE Phantom Mk II:

Thanks a bunch!

Thanks Wes.

The thing about Tie Fighters is that they are somewhat easy to make. Unlike some models that require more 'complexity' (like a star destroyer)

I'll see about starting on one them later tonight, I'll send you a PM with image updates :)

Hey bro...you forgot to mention that the 'real' reason they tend not to be very detailed is because the program you use starts to croak at a certain point ;)

Yea, that Cynax Station model itself is 190 MB's :)

If I breach 200 MBs, the program croaks and won't open it ;)
