Before The Devil Knows You're Dead - If I had to summarize this movie in three words, they would be; "Just See It". Phillip Seymour-Hoffman, Ethan Hawke, Albert Finley and Marissa Tomei deliver stunning performances which match beautifully by direction by Sidney Lumet. The story is one of deep familial dysfunction which presents a disturbing perspective on the nature of self-destructive relationships and the pressures of life.

There Will Be Blood - Simply the best movie I have seen in recent history. If you only see one movie this year, make this that movie!

May you be in heaven a full half hour before the devil knows you're dead.

i think There Will Be Blood was boring after the first ten minutes until the last ten minutes. daniel day-lewis was spectacular i give you that, but the preview made it much more than it really was.

Basing expectations for a movie on its previews = Judging a book by its cover.

yes, but you know what i mean. the preview made it seem like a different sort of film. in reality it was slow, boring, and extremely predictable. and although daniel did incredible he could not carry the film alone and if it werent for the end i would have asked for my money back.

There Will Be Blood was spectacular, it wasn't boring or anything for me, maybe it's my attention span. :) Anyway, as for the other movie you recommended I've heard good things...
Did any of you see the remake of Funny Games? :)
