I haven't played it myself, but if I didn't suck so much at action games and xbox games, I would. I've been watching my bf play it and I actually LIKE watching it. Normally I hate all xbox games, but this one is really good.

This site has some pics and also has some trailers, I suggest watching some of the trailers to get an idea of what the game is like. It has awesome music for something thats supposed to take place during the middle ages. I'd normally expect to hear something classical or what not, but this game has heavy metal music that's more fitting to the high pace war battles.

Basically, you play from several Generals POV's. So far I've watched my bf play the human Gerald, and the High/Dark Elf, Lucretia. You are given an army to command, from archers to calvary and even catapults. And the AI is so amazing because you really have to think through your strategy or else you'll lose horribly fast.

And during the battles the main characters talk to one another and a lot of the times it's hilarious what they say. Especially the High/Dark Elves... lol, the whole army is a bunch of women yelling and screaming at eachother, calling eachother "bitch" and threatening eachother. Meanwhile they're trying to kill humans... lmao

And this game really goes into great detail too. I dunno the story behind it, but my bf said that Elves heal themselves by being in the forrest(I'm assuming that it's from D&D, not sure), and this game does that. But it's not an immediate healing, it's gradual. So don't rely on that alone.

And each storyline pieces together into the next. You have to play everyone in order or else the story won't make any sense. So the human is first, then the High/Dark Elves. And from there, you unlock two other storylines that cannot be played until Lucretia's storyline's completed.

And what's best about this game? You can burn down houses. YAY!

My gamecube now serves a greater purpose in my house as a collector of dust particles.

It's hard to say which consol is best, but the GCN ranks higher than the PS2, IMO. It's the most under-utilized system, as demonstrated by RE4's jaw-dropping graphics.

Also, while most of the games lack the visceral and gory gameplay that is dominant on the xbox, and the plentiful supply of RPG's that you can get on the PS2, I think it's safe to say that the great majority of GCN games are actually fun to play, and that you can go to your local store and pick up a game by Nintendo without having to read a review, because it's guaranteed to be a complete blast.

With the xbox or ps2, most games suck really bad, so you must use an expendable game review agency to filter out the poor ones. Otherwise you might be emotionally scarred for life.

The GCN is also a great party machine. :)
