I suppose there are good brass players out there, but the HUGE majority of them are people who never practice, don't take private lessons, and play only in a school band, thus sounding ridiculously horrible, and have absolutely no ear.

I suppose the good brass players often get shunned into that catagory by people who dont know very much... or are just cynical.
