Apparently some heathen in Colorado has dared to put up a wreath in the shape of a peace sign! I know I'm deeply offended... that's the sign of Satan, it is.
ahh, old news... they already held a meeting to allow her to keep them up... from reading several of the press releases, seemed to me just one person had issues with the wreath and he tried to make the rest of the commit agree with him even after they voted once to let them stay.
Reminds me what an assosiation tried to do to a family friend recently. She's blind and has a guide dog taht must be walked, and so to find her house afterwards she had her housband hang up a windchime outside.
So they tried to kick her out for having a windchime, and a dog, though some disabilitys act says she can have it or the association can be sued.
Fortunitly, they won, but she suffered a lot of strain and stress and now, after 4 trips to the hospital in a week, she's being put in a nurshing home.
Why must we make accomodations for others? Because the rules of 'society' say so...
An animal of the kingdom born with a flaw is doomed and none of the other beasties make accomodations. "Oh, that's blind Eddy," says one lioness to another, "he's blind so we leave him alone. It just wouldn't be right."
An animal of the kingdom that wants to display its plumage may do so however it freakin' well likes. Even if it means all the predators in the wood get a good look and come runnin'.
That's what seperates us from the animals, human says. Been saying that for a long fucking time and where are we for it? Approaching critical mass.
Your family friend has the ability to put up windchimes. A family has the ability to make a 'peace sign' wreath and Wal-Mart has the ability to "bring back Christmas". You have the ability to blow up a Wal-Mart, to burn down a christmas tree or tear down your neighbours lawn-gnomes.
Who the hell cares? Seriously, does this effect you personally? does this threaten or endanger the freedom of your loved ones? If it does, fine, its wrong. If the answer if now, why should you both even addressing it. People are getting way way too sensitive these days.
Have to say I agree with the committee's decision on this one - having a pace sign displayed is openly seditious when the country is in a state of war - declared or otherwise. It is disrespectful to those that serve and fall.
Besides, wreaths are circles in the Christmas context.
Also, they live in an associated environment - if you do not want to abide by association rules then do not live in association lands.
The guide dog however is protected by law and common sense so that is ridiculous. But the peace wreath erecetd by teh hippie/anti-soldier must go!
Telan, that is absolutely the most ridiculous statement I have ever seen here. To say that a peace sign is seditious or a dishonour to soldiers is absolutely stupid.
Next you'll be telling us how pictures of kittens are what's driving teenagers to shoot up their high schools.
