Shouldn't be a stretch for Robert Downey Jr...

So what you will about him, he's a good actor.

I think this is Marvel's next big one, but the new Hulk with Ed Norton might do the trick instead. Either way, it looks good.

Ironman should be one of the few well done comic movies to come along. Robert Jr. is set to play Stark, without a doubt, and as the Writer stated he's a good actor; he'll play the part well, and convincingly.

Also, I believe (from what I heard when someone told me about an Interview with the Director) that they will be touching on the alcoholism in the next movie - as a trilogy is planned for the character.

Did I say he was a bad actor? No. I said it wouldn't be a stretch for him to play an alcoholic, Stevie Wonder could see that Robert Downey Jr. has had drug problems.

I have nothing against the guy, I've liked several of his movies. That being said, from the looks of this trailer I'm very unimpressed. It doesn't look good to be. Granted, I'm not an Iron Man fan boy so I haven't followed the comics throughout the years. But in my mind I never pictured Tony Stark as portrayed by Robert Downey Jr. in this trailer. He may very well be nailing the character, but either way, this movie doesn't look good to me.

Eh. I like Robert Downey Jr., but movies based off of comics have been horrible as of late. I just dont see this one as being any different. Don't get me wrong though, I'll more then likely see it, lol.

I didn't say you did, either. I was just making my thoughts on the matter heard, and I simply said I thought he would play the character convincingly; and I suppose I am somewhat a fan boy, and I agree with the characterisation.

I think Downey would be great as Stark. I too am a fan boy, I'm just saying movies based off of comics have not been all that great as of late.
