In which I scream like a little girl, right in the middle of the theater.

'Twas seeing a film (A Night at the Museum, quite entertaining if you are looking for something to see) with Meghan, and... yeah, the previews came about. I love previews. Even sucky movies can be condensed into a snappy, minute long preview that entertains and raises hope.

This one started with a silver comet streaking to earth. I tilt my head to the side. The Fantastic Four appear, they are at a wedding. The cake headpiece is Reed wrapping his arms around that chick that Alba plays four times. Or something. The comet streaks across the skies, and Johnny goes in pursuit.

A face appears.

Titus jumps out of his seat and screams "YES!!!". Snickering ensues, and Meghan laughs at him.

Titus wets his pants. (Ok, that didn't happen. My bladder did threaten to empty though.)

The Rise of the Silver Surfer, coming to theaters this June.

About f'n time, I say.

As a post script, I will now have an abundance of avatar material. No more scrounging around and hacking images together. I'll have at least 1.5 hours of Silver-Surfer screenshotasmick imaging. When the DVD comes out. Yay!

Ill only be excited if this means Galactus on the big screen

EDIT:

And he will be.... Interview with Tom Rothman, Fox Chairman....

IESB: Yes, Fantastic Four Rise of the Silver Surfer, Weta is doing the CGI, Doug Jones doing the motion capture, we want to confirm this, you can’t have the Silver Surfer without Galactus making an appearance at one point or another in the film right?

TR: That’s true.

IESB: Avi has always referred to Galactus as a force of nature.

TR: Yeah.

IESB: Is he going to look like anything like we’ve seen him in the comic books?

TR: Yes, I think that Galactus, look, I don’t want to give away too much, right, but I will say this, Galactus will appear and fans will not be disappointed.

I've only vocalized in that manner twice. This time, and once during the movie Shrek when the Princess popped the bluebird.

All I can say is this:

I don't trust people when they say it won't disappoint the fans. That's what they said about the FIRST one.

I gotta agree with Irtar. I've heard alot of film makers say it won't disappoint fans and then the movie becomes a total flop. Hopefully that won't happen though.

It will.

Marvel films has taken a spiral... downward.

Spiderman 3 looks to be a total flop. Here's the thing I don't fucking get about these super-hero flicks; why do they have to do things entirely in digital? Did we learn nothing from The Matrix - hybrid special effects are what keep people involved. When you can, from your movie seat, clearly observe the transition from Real Life Actors In Make-Up to Digital Renderings it takes you out of the movie... like waking from a great dream, and no matter how hard you try, you can't get back to that place again.

And if you are going to go so heavy on the Digital thing; spend the time and money to make it sail.

Although, yes, I am looking forward to seeing Parker in the Alien Costume and Silver Sufer surfing with something of a geeks-hard-on. See, and that's the problem; they know that geeks like us will still pay the 20 bucks to go see their shitty movie because, like... it's a part of what we grew up with. Dicks.
