I thought I would share my thoughts on some of the new albums that I've been listening to of late:
Snow Patrol - Final Straw
I have to say, this is an absolutely stellar album. Run might be what Snow Patrol is famous for, and it's easily one of the best songs on the album, but there's no bad song on this CD. Snow Patrol certainly isn't for everyone, the hardcore rochaholic will be disapointed by the band's melodic, sublte approach to music, but if you like bands like Coldplay you'll love Snow Patrol. This is an album I would definately suggest buying.
Hot Hot Heat - Elavator
"Elavator is a relentless rockathon with choruses that are anthrax-level infectious, driven by a killer keyboard-and-bass combo and - get this - lyrics you can relate to." That about sums it up for the local boys (:)). Elavator is the album I put on repeat in my car and listen to when driving anywhere. The bass is relentless and the songs - every one of them - kick ass. Worth every penny, highly recomended.
Weezer - Make Believe
First off, this is no Blue Album. You won't find an Only in Dreams on this album. That being said, Weezer has done an okay job with their latest record. Songs like This Is Such a Pity and Pardon Me demand to be listened to again and again. I didn't buy it, but I wouldn't be disapointed if I had.
