I just saw a preview for this movie. It looks like it could be a lot of fun to see, even though it really isn't based upon the Asmov story like they claim it to be.

It doesn't look remotely like what I remember reading, although I'll admit it was long ago.

It's based off of his short 'I, Robot' as well as his three laws. Which, apparantly, are butchered in the movie.

The three laws are covered here.

yeah.. it'll reference the name, USR and the three laws but those will be the only things comparable to the story.

When I first saw a preview for this it reminded me a lot of the story behind the Matrix. You'd have to watch the Animatrix and more specifically the two parts called the Second Renaissance.

Where do you think the Matrix got the idea in the first place.

Oh and this movie looks like an utter disaster. Why they had to desecrate the original story so much, I may never know.

I'd have to agree with Charley on that.

I did like the way they presented the preview though, (as a kind of advert for the robot itself).

It's what Hollywood does best, in most cases anyway.
