How's life?

I've been here off and on, but it's been a really long time since I've talked to a lot of you guys. How's life?

I'm doing pretty good. I really cannot complain. I've got a steady, reliable job doing something that I like to do (most days). I recently got married (just like three or four other vets here) so I've got a wife to hang out with and do cool adult things to. I just bought another 240sx, so now I'm plotting and planning my renovations, restorations and upgrades.

On the entertainment side, we moved our apartment around, so now I am lacking about 25' of cat5 cable for my 360. No xbox live for me. I've got a friend modding Meg's old xbox, and once he's done with that he's going to give me some networking cable too, so we can get everything hooked up again. I'm too much of a cheapskate to go buy cable when free is promised.

Spring is coming up here. It's a ways out yet, but it is coming. I'm looking forward to a summer of swimming with Meghan. She broke two fingers in her left hand last spring when we were out longboarding, so we didn't do any swimming all summer because of the cast and the pins. Now that she's all healed up, Lake Superior better watch out!

I too am doing well. It's almost going to be a full year of being married June 5th and I am thinking of what the heck to do for the first anniversary. Things have been tossed around like "Cruise" but with other major purchases that are hopefully to come this year, such extravagant vacations will have to be put off. My car (Nissan Maxima) died and I am lazily working to get rid of it. So our family is down to 1 car while I save to purchase another and save for a house down payment. I figure June I will have enough to begin a search in earnest of either one. I want only one payment and I prefer that to be a house payment. I want to purchase a car outright and so I am patient enough to wait. I want a Lincoln LS cause I think they look cool and I am not looking to do off-roading. As to whether I get it or not is a matter of debate. My wife wants an SUV for herself so it all depends on what we find first when we have the cash.

I purchased a storage room and this weekend I will empty my empty bachelor pad and say "goodbye" to it once and for all...*sigh*

A new idea my wife has brought up is camping for our anniversary. I am intrigued and feel that a good float down a river with an ice-chest of something cold would be nice.

My computer is packed up in a plastic storage box and I am not planning on opening it till we have more room (as in: when we buy a house). It may come to pass that I'll need to seriously upgrade (buy a new computer) so will probably search out Morgan cause I really like reading his money saving ideas on parts.

My Xbox is fine and I usually play Halo 3 (still, I know...) every once in a while. I downloaded the free Frontlines demo and a couple of friends and I have been playing it. It's interesting but not sure if I'll buy it. I hate spending $60.00 for a game.

A friend gave my wife a $300 gift card for walmart for a Wii (belated Wedding present) and she's having a heck of a time finding a Walmart with a Wii.. heh heh.

We are currently going through Season 7 dvd set of X-Files, and Season 2.5 of Battlestar Galactica. I am waiting for Season 3 and will have to purchase Season 3 of Lost as well. We are following that and I have caught a few Jericho episodes online. It is an interesting (if short) story so far. Stargate Atlantis has me wondering why Sam Carter is even there.

I finished reading an old Harry Harrison trilogy starting with Hammer and the Cross. I also finished rereading the Lost Fleet books (Jack Campbell) of which book 4 is supposed to come out in June. With little new stuff coming out that catches my interest, I am turning to older sci-fi/history reading. Gue's recent post of his library has me intrigued. I have one or two he's listed and so anxiously awaiting his additions. I should really do a post on my books as even I don't know how many I have but they have filled several boxes. Perhaps when I get a house.

As for roleplaying, I am currently thinking where to take my ongoing stories and how to complete them. My Ciscero story (What you Leave Behind) is nearly done but I need to go back and edit earlier posts as I was rereading them a while back and noted errors in spelling or things that just did not make sense. The Themien War - Book I is ever closer to completion so that I may start Book II and bring it into the SW universe and connect my second OF Endings story. Of course there is also the marriage to Leia that needs to be written on the Commonwealth side of things and hopefully Seth gets back for more development on that plot. Finish the Darker Mark, some more Annals of Zell running about in my head and take Kaine back to his Imperial Academy days (where Telan is an instructor??). Of course my last Perrin post for Dacian Palestar and participation in whatever shape the Crusade takes from Xa Fel on out.

But I am not in a hurry.

Did anyone notice the lack of porn? Ahnk and Titus are on the case.

I give all the credit to Titus for that, by the by.

I am too busy with work to make a long detailed post about how busy with work I am. Also, I have no life besides work. I cry myself to sleep everynight.

Anyway, I just got home from work. I have to rest up a bit since I have work tommorow.

Bye.

Well, Tamara and I just moved in to our new place on the 1st. The move went smashingly (literally, poor framed painting) and we are as happy as love bugs in a love nest. It's my first apartment, having always lived in houses before, but as she is quick to remind me, it's technically a 'condominium' and that's what I'm paying more for; a word. Either way, we're happy and that's what matters most. Savings are building, we intend on purchasing a 55' Sony Bravia LCD within the next three months, a leather sectional and a few other pieces of furniture given that, living the bachelor life, I never really cared what my furniture looked like so long as it worked, was comfortable and didn't totally suck. The move itself was pretty painless, though my smashed up hands, bruised flesh and sore muscles tell a different story all together.

I just purchased a modded X-Box (not a 360 sadly) and a case of games for fifty bucks from a buddy. The reason; my computer is totally fuxored for the short term, and I'm not rich enough yet to splurge on a 360 which I do plan on buying within the next two months. My car is back, running fine and dandy - my insurance remains the same, given the fault was laid on the asshole who actually did the crashing in to me. Fortunately he hit my passenger side and I was alone.

Tamara has her birthday coming up on the 29th which is coincidentally four days after our half-year. So I guess we'll do something special in celebration. I plan on taking her out to a rather ritzy French restaurant in town for dinner, then a show at the Royal Theater. It should be nice... even if she has to spend it with me.

Work is ass. I'm changing positions, bailing on this dispatcher gig and getting out on the road, as a driver. The money is better, the hours longer, and less office politics to contend with. We both work hard and it's about time we started working smart instead. Another year of school for her and she'll be selling scripts, journalism pieces and winning the bread. Heh.

We're building a life together and I never realized how satisfying that would be, and I love it. That's my main focus these days; her happiness and our life together.

There may be bells in the future, but neither of us are rushing anything - modern kids that we are.

LOL Heir.

I've been dividing my time between work, computer games, and getting smammered. I will do this for 1 more month and then I go back under water for a few months.

I've been working a lot in my new position, as a telephone customer representative - namely I trouble shoot for people who call and have complaints about various things. It's not too bad, and the starting salary is worth the effort. Recently I've been a little under the weather, having been worn down and having become sick; but, I think after two days of rest, I'm pretty well on the up and up to getting better.

I think it's mostly fatigue, which makes me catch sickness easier.

Living wise things are acceptable. I'm settled in with Mel's family (we've basically moved into the bottom of their two-story home), and we've established our respective areas to share - namely the bedroom and our personal living/television/computer room. It's nice, even if we have to put up with Mel's sister - but, I can't complain due to the cheapness of the accomodation, as they are helping us save up for the house mortage (which Mel and I plan to use to buy our first home later this year).

RPing wise... I've been too busy and worn out to really do much of anything besides work (I hear you, Ahnk). Maybe when things calm down, I can really get back into the scene, but for now I'm happy with a breather.

On the up side, it looks like I might be getting a promotion - and only after one month in the job. This means I'll be walking around the office floor, helping the newbies on the phones with their computer systems, instead of sitting at my own phone. Fingers crossed, and I'm really looking forward to that possibility.

Either way, things seem to be getting better. I have more money, appreciate my fiance more, and am enjoying life. Can't complain too much, really.

Mel and I also plan on tying the knot sometime late next year, or early 2010.

Peace out.
