I've never considered a Harry Potter book "mind-blowing"...
Interesting.

She did a really, really good job making it live up to the hype and getting away with what she did.

Maybe I'll have to give it a whorl. Generally when people talk about pulp fictions they can plow through in a handful of hours... it's not to say things like mind-blowing, or such.

I'm a speed reader though...
the only reason it took me that long was I had to stop and cook supper and such...

I took about seven hours... the first time through you just need to know what happens next. The second time through, one can take their time and appreciate just how brilliant JKR really is, to weave everything together the way she does.
Anyone expecting a whimsical children's story is in for a very rude awakening...

I wonder if she'll decide to do anything else. It would be cool if she started another series in the magical world, or did a voldemort's rise to power book.

I think she'll do something in the magical world again, just not Potter related.

She said she's going to write an encyclopedia of the Harry Potter universe, but I doubt there'll be another novel set there. Frankly, she doesn't need to write anything ever again if she doesn't want to...

That's true, but I'm pretty sure she'll pick up writing novels again.
