I decided to re-install steam the other day to check out this game. In case you don't know, the new trend is these short 4 - 5 hour games that are digitally distributed (I guess you can get them in stores too) for around $20 a pop. Being a huge fan of HL2 and having read decent reviews on this first installment, I figured I'd give it a go.

While I got through it without too much trouble in 1 day, it was a pretty enjoyable game. Quality over quantity in this case.

Anybody else played this game, or any of the other episodic games that are starting to come out (SIN Episodes, etc)?

I bailed on Steam/Valve a while back. And the rest. Worth coming back?

If you liked HL2 you'll enjoy the Episodes. I just don't know if 5 hours of single player fun is worth $20 to everyone.

How do you find running through them additionally? If they have re-play-ability, then yeah, maybe. And is it 20 bux Yankee?

It's pretty linear, much like HL2, so while it's fun getting through it, once you're done, you feel pretty much done with it.

And yeah it's like 19.95 USD or something.

I hear Episode 2 is going to include a few extras, like Team Fortress 2.

Yeah, I just read about that as well. Mightve been in PCgamer, whose latest "Ultimate How-To's For Gamers!" issue was pretty rad, BTW.
