VC is up and running now, it was really down last night (completly off-line).

Whatever ezboard bugs came about now, I can't introduce the new look of my board.

Yeah, I can sympathise, its not exactly the kind of thing you want people to experience.

...and I really resent delving into my pocket for Gold CSC when this is what I get for it.

You could ask to have VC moved to a faster server. I don't know if they're still doing that, I know they were doing it awhile ago though.
