Michael Moore's most recent film, Farenheit 9/11, is being blocked by Disney. Disney owns Miramax, and even though Miramax wants to distribute it, Disney is saying they can't. Jerks.

LINK to his site, where he explaines the situation.

It's Disney's perogitave. I'm pretty sure Moore knew this would happen, too, otherwise he would have gone with another distributor.

Disney won't release a documentary?

Yet... Disney lets Miramax release "Kill Bill Vol 1 & 2" in theatres which entertained audiences with blood spraying and gore.

Hipocrites.

Disney is in the process of selling it to Miramax to have distributed elsewhere. Just like they did with Dogma back in 99. Miramax sees the dollars they received from "Columbine" and seems to be doing what they can to get the movie out.

Moore's documentaries have a bit of a history with being slightly fabricated in convenient places (see ‘Columbine’)

Looks like Disney's green-lighted the movie. And Moore says he was not told Disney was vetoing the movie until after it was finished and Disney made the declaration. Apparently Miramax wanted to distribute it, and the head of Miramax found it to be good, but Disney called it off at the last moment. Disney said they told Moore a year ago they weren't going to distribute it, but they have no evidence to prove that. To help prove he's right, Michael pointed out they continued to send him money to make the movie with long after they supposedly told him they wouldn't distribute it. I'm inclined to believe Michael.

Also, Disney was not technically allowed to as their power to block Miramax movies extend only to ones that go over-budget or ones that have an NC-17 rating. This is agreed upon by both Michael and Disney, which means that their blocking of the film was illegitimate in the first place.

Lastly, if you think anything in Bowling for Columbine was fake, there's an article on his site where he calmly explaines anything people have clamied is fake in his movie, and backs it up. Once again, I am inclined to believe Michael's sensible arguments over the general ranting I encounter from people who are against his movie.

I've read his explinations, and they have been found wanting. I think there are counter-explinations of the explinations at moorewatch.com

Heck, even Salon (a very liberal and leftist news source) dislikes Moore, and his little [sarcasm] of twisting the truth to fit his views.

You mean like the trumped up horseshit your buddy Rush has been feeding his audience as he clammors for extended prison sentences for drug addicts, then runs to the washroom to do the equivalent of heroin? (See also: "Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot", meaning both the book and the fact that he is a big, fat idiot.)

Or do you mean more like the lies your president used to justify a war in Iraq?

Wow, an internet website which discusses an issue (politics) based entirely on opinion holds a negative opinion of Michael Moore! Your amazingly compelling argument has convinced me to stop having my own opinions and instead blindly accept whatever any given semi-legitimate source shoves down my throat!
