Did Bush Steal the Election?

Did the thought ever occur to you that people LIED about who they voted for when they where asked?

Exit polls are unreliable, that's why many people don't trust them.
Wrong. Exit polls have never been so far out of synch with the results. In every case, they have accurately (within 2%) represented the results of the election.

Drayson, not to be a jerk or anything, but this guy is easily identifiable as a hard-core Democrat. He's just a bitter, sore loser, in my opinon.

Your opinion is all well and good, but it does little to refute the evidence. I'm hardly supporting the author - I find it interesting, certainly - but he has taken the time to collect some evidence and do some research. Considering the results came in yesterday, I would say this is only the beginning.

THERE IS NOTHING YOU CAN DO ABOUT IT. STOP WHINING, GET OVER IT, GO HOME.

That shows a huge ammount of contempt for a lot of people, not in the least the soldiers dying every day in Iraq. America was founded on a couple basic principles, one of them being the freedom to say what you want. That is, apparently, why there are people dying in Iraq, too. So to say "Stop whining" to someone who raises some very real concerns about the election of the most powerful man in the world is ridiculous, imo.

If Kerry had won and you thouhgt for a second the vote had been rigged you would be up in arms. But the situation is reversed, and so you're quite content to ignore any concerns raised by the "other side" and smile because your man is free to wreack havoc and not have to worry about the results of another election.

Again Demo

You're wrong

Exit poll's have and always will be inaccurate when people give the wrong information.

The fact that you think you're right proves it, you think everyone will give accurate information when they are asked who they voted for... tell me, why should I tell someone who I voted for when it isn't any of there god forsaken business?

I can tell you flat out, that a lot of republicans who voted for Bush, told those people that they voted for Kerry. I know I did, and so did a lot of my friend's

The election in Ohio was not decided by the voters but by something called "spoilage." Typically in the United States, about 3 percent of the vote is voided, just thrown away, not recorded. When the bobble-head boobs on the tube tell you Ohio or any state was won by 51 percent to 49 percent, don't you believe it ... it has never happened in the United States, because the total never reaches a neat 100 percent. The television totals simply subtract out the spoiled vote.

We had a few of those at our polling station. It happens when people decide they like all the candidates, so they select every one on the ballot.

Expert statisticians investigating spoilage for the government calculated that 54 percent of the ballots thrown in the dumpster were cast by black folks.

Translated: People specializing in making numbers dance to their tune guessed what color someone's skin was based upon how many holes they improperly punched.

Spoilage has a very Democratic look in New Mexico. Hispanic voters in the Enchanted State, who voted more than two to one for Kerry, are five times as likely to have their vote spoil as a white voter. Counting these uncounted votes would easily overtake the Bush 'plurality.'

Are they putting webcams in the voting booths these days?

I for one believe that if 100% of the country turned out to vote and 100% of the votes counted, Kerry would win. I believe that Bush's victory, assuming it was legitimate, was based on more GOP supporters turning up to vote, not on the will of the majority of the American people.

If legit, it is the will of the people. Your will doesn't count if you're too lazy to vote, sorry.

Ok, so this is what I get out of the article: Black and Hispanic democrats are too stupid to punch the card all the way.

That's about what he's saying, isn't it? The 'problem areas' are highly populated with democratic-voting minorities.

And night follows day.

Prove it. Exit poles have never been so far out of synch with the results. Even in Florida 2000 they matched closer than this year. Obviously, there is some margin for error - but you fail to explain why the margin grew so vastly between 2000 and 2004. Did a majority of voters simply decide to start lying? Or is there something more serious at stake?

You refuse - flat out - to even consider the facts. You assume that the difference is simply and only because some people weren't truthful. That's simple ignorance.

I can tell you flat out, that a lot of republicans who voted for Bush, told those people that they voted for Kerry. I know I did, and so did a lot of my friend's.

Do you speak for "a lot of Republicans". No. And if people are as untrustworthy as you claim, shouldn't the Republicans lying and the Democrats lying balance each other out?

The fact that you so willfully ignore is that exit poles have never been so far out of synch. They have always been a fairily true reflection of the results.

Not so this year.

That is, though, not what the author is talking about. For you to know that people punched every hole you have to have looked at the ballot (and presumably you would record the number of ballots). He's talking about ballots that are simply thrown out without being looked at.

Way to change the subject, though.

Or, they look at the demographics in the area and compare them with voting trends and exit poles. You're comment, though, I might add, is quite racist. You're implying that African-Americans are unable to properly punch ballots.

Cheers!

Don't be stupid. You should be above that - and you know full well what sorts of methods they use to get their numbers.

If legit, it is the will of the people. Your will doesn't count if you're too lazy to vote, sorry.

What about people who weren't able to make it? You know - people who have to work two minimum wage jobs to support their children, who can't afford to wait in line all day because they need the money. Or people who were forced to cast uncounted provisional ballots for any number of reasons. Their votes don't count either, I guess?

Congratulations, Kas! You're officially a racist! If I believed you were stupid enough to actually get that out of the article, I might not be inclined to believe you a racist... but you're clearly intelligent enough to know what the author was talking about. You just prefer to turn it into a racial thing instead of actually considering that he might have a point.

Ugh.

This isn't going to get much better, so please try and avoid the "omg ur a rapist!" comments in the future. Debating is fine.

The core issue is why the polls and the votes are different. There are a lot of reasons why it could be. There are a lot of reasons, and none more valid then any other. It's all just speculation.

Liberals, among which I count myself, need to move on. We need to start planning 2008. So I'm throwing my support behind Obama/Dean. Sure to attract minorities and the batshit fucking insane. I smell a landslide.

Your employer is obligated by law to allow you to take time off to vote.

Huh Huh. He said racist.

Playing the race card is getting to be so old and overused. For the most part nowdays, I roll my eyes everytime someone yells "racist!". Besides. Suing is the new racist these days.

Thanks S'Il! I was wondering what to shout when we get our butts sued for copyright infringement.

Not to sway the topic off Bush (with alien help) rigging the elections, Kas being racist, Ahnk being a liberalist and me being hungry, (to S'Il) just what the heck is that funny little creature in your personal pic?
