DDR and DDR2

P4 systems support DDR2 (depending on motherboard) while AMD systems do not. There isn't much of a difference in speed though. New AMD systems have an on-di memory controller that keep things moving along fast enough.

I think that GeForce would be a better buy. A 6600GT seems to be the sweet spot between price and performance. You also really shouldn't sink too much money into an AGP graphics card, PCI-X is the new standard and anything over 150 on AGP is a waste of cash, IMO.

PCI-X is a different kind of port. Looks different. Different size. Google your MoBo make, should come up with it.

Personally, I would choose the last one if your board can support the PCX interface as, according to Kas, it's the newest tech and, more important, it's cheaper. :)

So, I need a good AGP
