I think that's a low-price DX10 solution. The 8800GT beats it. Unless I'm misreading the random shit I found on it.

It does, but it means that soon that the higher end components of the 9 series will be out, driving down the cost of the 8 series video cards.

Considering the fact that Nvidia has a pretty cozy performance lead except for the 3870X2 and is about to launch their 9800GX2 I really doubt that. The only cards that will drop in value are the G80 based cards: The 8800 GTX, Ultra and non 512 mb GTS cards.

bah, that's how it always is with the computer industry... the thing is outdated pretty much as soon as it's out of the box!


But seeing as how I've been using a Radeon 9550 for years, I don't think I mind.

I really wouldn't worry about your 8800GT being outperformed by the 9600GT

Kickin' it old school. I'm running a 1900XT. I should get something that I can run my games at 1920x1200 with but eh, money.
