Just, whatever you do, don't get something with Vista preinstalled. Use your old hard drive or go with XP. Or better yet, a Unix/Linux based system that can actually run games (yay! (if one existed)).
Yeah, no.

I agree that Vista is still pretty miserable, but XP is the only way to go if you actually want to play a game.

Oh, they can. But the object is to steer completely away from Windows and Microshit, except that's not possible if you want to play games.

Dearest Evanar:

I'm gone for the weekend to a music festival in FL. I'll be back Monday and hope to discuss parts in detail with you at your earliest convenience in hopes of ordering myself a rig sometime next week.

Send you the shiny. I suggested the 8800GT because it's 90% as fast as a GTX for less than 2/3 the price. I'm well under budget and this setup is gonna scream.

I'm battling with myself over whether I want to get the 900 or the P182. What's your opinion on that?

Also: How much of a difference is there between a Q6600 and a Q6700. Worth the price difference or no?

My computer came in the mail today.

It is pure sex.

Thank you Morgan.

Just started on BioShock with maxed settings and 1920x1200 resolution. Looks beautiful on my 24" wide screen and runs like a dream.

I've got Crysis standing by to try out next.
