it's a little dark, but you can still see him playing :) he's still sick though :( there's talk of testing him for some diseases to see if this is a permanent condition....

We have ten acres of woods, surrounded by 4000 acres of woods. Our cats are two Siamese/tomcat mixes and a mix that's so mixed we're not exactly sure what she is. One of them is a hunter (the female Siamese), but that's not a problem where we live. We keep them up to date on vaccines and such, but, as Beff said, they are animals, not humans. Still, we go through some extraordinary measures for them.

The one problem we've had with the cats is a particular type of virus (don't remember what it's called) that affects only domestic cats. It's transferred by deer ticks, usually from cougers, bobcats, or wildcats, and it's an automatic killer. No cure, no vaccine, and it kills them in less than twenty-four hours. Pretty awful to watch. But they get such pleasure from being outdoors, able to hunt, etc., and they have several well-built sheds, a cedared and pillowed cat house, and the heated undersides of two porches to live in (we actually run the heat from inside the house out under the one porch, and the other is the hot air vent for the drier). So they're pretty-well taken care of.
