OMFG.

CoD4 was earth-shattering, and if anything MW2 came along, put the earth back together and then re-shattered it. It's everything that made CoD4 so great, only better.

Freaking gold.

I picked it up on the 11th and have since spent my every spare moment playing. I slaughtered the campaign on "hardened" and dove right in to SpecOps and now I'm ranking up in Live multiplayer. This game is freaking supurb.

And because I have a few of you on my Live friends-list, I know you have been too.

Paul; what's you rank, and favorite customized class?

James; same to you!

Currently I'm in the 20's (I ain't been playing much, just short bursts in multiplayer) and I've been enjoying the assault class (though with the M14 with an ACOG scope). The FAMAS with an ACOG is good, too.

At the moment I've been trying to pass the single player campaign, as I've been digging the story. I just got past the Whiskey Hotel (just after the nuke launch).

I've also been meaning to ask someone: Is MacTavish actually 'Soap' from the original? I've kind of realized this, but having it confirmed would be nice.

Also, the game looks so damn good, graphically, even on a 360 that's astounding - I couldn't believe how good it looked. It must look amazing on HD televisions (I haven't joined that crowd yet, sadly).

On a related note, I would have to say that I love the British SAS missions more so than the American ones. I really enjoy playing as Roach, and if they made a SWAT/SAS/Black Ops game along the lines of COD4: MW2 (same game play, same graphics, same everything - with some upgrades as needed) I would absolutely love it.

I really dig that whole 'mentorship' think they have going, and the group-based aspect (multiple breaching, etc). And I know Rainbow Six does the same, but I enjoy being able to focus on my enemies, and KNOW my AI counter parts don't require me to guide them the whole time - not to mention I think a game concept like above would work well with a 'start as a recruit, and eventually become the squad leader' type of storyline.

In a word, COD4: MW2 is: Awesome.

Also, Beff: If our connections good, and you get a new mic, we should play some Spec Ops together.

Picking up a wireless headset on payday.

And yes, the same Soap. And there's a real sad piss off coming up soon. So don't get too attached.

On an HD TV, which I am, it looks glorious!

I'm only rank 17 atm.

I am only rank 2. The place I'm at is splitting basic DSL between 8 people, two of which are streaming TV from their homelands. So I'm not really getting any multiplayer, which is really grating me.

I have to get it on PC, I do not own a xbox. I am jealous.

Haven't been able to find a store with a copy of the game yet, either.

Boo to you all!

I dunno whether to get it for PC or 360, I prefer FPS's to be on the PC due to modding/tweaking abilities, that is of course if there is a PC version.

Ughs, there are so many mixed reviews on this game that I don't know what to believe.. =\

Console FPS targeting seems so unwieldy and awkward to me, I have long preferred FPS and RTS with wasd and a good mouse.

Although.... xbox on a hi-def flatscreen is pretty damn sexy.

Basically, the PC version will be exactly like the Xbox version. No mods, no custom maps, no dedicated servers.

Oh! But you get text chat. That makes it better, right?

What Smarts said. There will be no difference between the PC version and console - save for graphics detail/control. No servers or anything.

I heard that when the fact was announced, Amazon had 200,000+ pre-orders of COD4: MW2 for PC canceled.

In order to help you decide, I'll break down MW2 into a sentence:

"It's just as 'good' as COD4 MW, just as fun, but has been updated and upgraded to status 'awesome'."

Beff:

I know what you mean. I was both saddened and enraged. I'm glad it all turned out well in the end - fittingly so, even. I wouldn't have had it any other way.
