Where the lightside went wrong...

There are a million and one reasons you could name why the lightside fell in power and the Empire rose, and you'd be right. Lack of active members in the light, incompetance and little experience amongst the Lightsider Generals, horrible organizational blunders, poor planning, and momentum on the part of the darkside are all right answers, but as far as I can see there is one real reason why we fail, one which is the root of all these problems.

We stopped being heroes.

Really, we have. Come on, the Jedi try, but to be frank having a jedi (who is more often then not just a padawan) on your side doesn't help things much. Sith are freaking scary. They write whole thousand-word threads just to make it clear how evil they are and in what way. And us fleeters are far worse. Who here sees Griffen, or Jan, or Regrad and thinks "Now THERE goes a good man." Small instances, like helping some people or slapping a PR-smily-face on our latest battle just about maintain our lightside status because compared to the Empire we don't do much evil at all.

What would help a lot more then a hundred shiny star destoryers and a dozen squeaky-clean planets to get the light competitive would be to get back to what it's supposed to mean to be a good-guy. I mean, hell, isn't that's what Star Wars is supposed to be about? Good guys overcoming the odds and beating bad-guys?

No one would ever dare call the Empire a wuss-nation, either to their face or behind their backs because odds are someone's still watching you. And to add that last thick slice of malevolance a super-powered propaganda machine makes THEM look like the good guys. Not freakin' hard, considering we have very few counters to their arguments.

The Outer-Rim-Soverinty (and the coalition, but they'll be dissolved into ORS soon enough) on the other hand can't even keep itself out of the neutral links. I ask you, Name all the good things ORS does, the heroic things, and compare to the less-then-heroic acts or situations that they did too, and you soon see that at best the list is even.

Now finally, you may be wondering why returning to proper lightside-mentalities and heroics will help us, and all I can say is that I'm surprised if you can't figure it out by yourself. On TRF, WORDS are the power. Words carry the strength of warfleets, the might of armies, and obey the laws of literiture. And one of the indestructible, unavoidable laws is that in a good story only heroes can defeat villains. To defeat something evil you need an equal or greater force of good, and neutrals just can't muster that.

The only feasible way the fairly inneffective members of the Darkside's opposition can rally round and hope to ever win is to be heroes again. It sounds insane, and I agree, but it works for darksiders. They're PURE EVIL and they kick enemy-ass, unless fighting an even greater evil.

Anyways, just my two cents.

Perhaps the problem is that you think they should be Dolash.

Probably should have thought through the whole 'neutrality' thing a bit more...

Exactly.

Neutrality is the worst side to take.
