Tallaan
In a surprise move, Arliss Industries entered into bidding for the Tallaan Shipyards and ended up the victor. The company had filed for bankruptcy under the Imperial Co-Provision Code 532. A move that surprised some analysts considering Tallaan was not directly controlled by the Empire.
Still, court rulings decided to favor the heavily adopted Imperial Code as the companies TSY was indebted too were Imperial. By opening the bid to Imperial public auction, TSY ensured that their vendors would receive partial payments and that government fines would also be paid.
Seamus Arliss announced that Tallaan was definitely a candidate as a new logistical headquarters for Interplanetary Services, Ltd. a subsidiary of Arliss Industries.
It is expected that the refit of the yards will take six months to a year depending on local services and inspection details.
The Tallaan Combine is excited about the boost to local economies and a new market for skilled laborers.
Belkaden Shipyards Destroyed
In other news, the last few images of remaining Imperial probes in the Belkaden system showed nothing good. An Imperator Class Star Destroyer was seen doing great damage to the planet and the orbiting yards as overwhelming military forces were brought to the area.
Whether or not the Imperial High Command will send a taskforce to revenge the loss of the families remains to be seen.
Belkaden served as an Outer Rim outpost for years before the rebellion of the New Empire and the ravages of Wrath motivated the Empire to pull back it's military reserves. It was felt then that the local economy could endure the time of isolation under such a time as the planet was brought back into the Empire.
While the damages done to Belkaden were tragic, the military threat posed by the attacker seems to be the more immediate concern. There is speculation that the 5th Fleet, whose regular stops is Garqi (under Governor Gutt), might be sent to the far-off planet.
