The image fades in to show Emperor Fearsons, flanked by his royal PeFauna and with the Lord Inquisitor of Braxant, Admiral Dakkon Blackblade, decked in Shadow Jedi robes, to his left. Before them is Dxun Isstal, leader of the Galactic Defense Initiative, flanked by his own guards. They seem to be in a heated discussion about something or other, most likely the everlasting conflict between the two factions.
A news anchor, probably a newer one as he had not been seen on HoloNet before, takes over in front of them, speaking to the camera.
"Well folks we have been invited here, aboard the heavily modified flagship of the Jutraalian Empire, the IMS Disruptor, where we have been offered to monitor and record the entire negotiations that have taken place here.
"Let me tell you it has not been what most seem to imagine diplomacy to be. There have been heated words on both sides, yelling, threats of every imagineable sort from both sides, and strange accusations coming from one. More often than not, it seemed the entire galaxy was about to be pulled down into a huge vaccuum of battle as the two nearly blew out at each other, usually due to the Galactic Defense Initiative's pointing of fingers.
"However we have met a relative peace here, but perhaps it is the eye of the storm? That we do not know, but what we do know is that Emperor Fearsons came before the Galactic Defense Initiative offering a full cease fire to the war. No terms issued on either side, simply both sides ceasing their conflicts.
"The Galactic Defense Initiative was outraged, demanding material gain, yet Emperor Fearsons help strong to his belief and was backed by Lord Inquisitor Blackblade of Yaga Minor. Such words as 'We wish to undo the evil of Jutraal' were issued by the Galactic Defense Initiative, which has quirked more than a few eyebrows, and 'You are not the police of the galaxy and with thus can uphold no "laws"' have been stated by the Jutraalian officials.
"From what it appears, Emperor Fearsons refuses to be governed by Dxun Isstal, and Dxun Isstal is refusing to end the war without material gain. The emperor's explanation for this - which was given during a brief recess - was that, 'If the Galactic Defense Initiative desires peace as it claims to do so so greatly, it can do so without being bribed. I will not sell my men's sweat and blood for anyone.'
"Dxun Isstal however stated that he was fighting to restore peace and freedom to the galaxy, enforcing a higher law than the Jutraalian Empire follows. This was countered by Inquisitor Blackblade who stated that the Jutraalian Empire follows its own laws, and wars only when necessary, claiming that the empire has never struck out without reason.
"Another counter was made by the Defense Initiative, who claimed that Emperor Fearsons engaged the forces of the Iron Fist Empire, Chimera Syndicate, and Mon Cal Republic for no better reason than to practice his war machine. This however, was simply countered by common sense, as well as Emperor Fearsons's explanation as to the war that had developed due to the Battle of Chandrila, and Chimera Syndicate's subsequent rebellion and production of biological weapons, which they tested on their own civilians.
"After Dxun Isstal accused Emperor Fearsons of being a war monger who desires bloodshed, and the emperor countering with that he offered these terms, the entire negotiations seem to have gotten very quiet, or at least, quieter than they have been. Where Dxun Isstal has ceased his yelling, the emperor has become more relaxed, though his beat has never sped or slowed when speaking. Inquisitor Blackblade maintanes an equal level of calm.
"This is-," he stops suddenly as all three men stop to shake hands, and a datapad is passed around. All men sign this datapad and it is copied onto several datacards and distributed, four copies per person. The news anchor holds his ear and looks down.
"Ah we have the official terms here ladies and gentleman. All forces shall withdraw from either faction's space, all Galactic Defense Initiative forces shall withdraw to their respective territories, and Byss and all other targets of the Jutraalian Empire are to be left unscathed. The Katar Fleet shall be recalled, and no arms shall be lifted on either side against iether side."
There is a series of nods and murmurs among the crowd. Both leaders turn to leave. However, just before he exits, Dxun Isstal throws a stare over his shoulder at Fearsons.
"You do realize Fearsons," he says with a smirk, "that IDTech is not Jutraalian yet, and therefore is not added to this treaty. To defend them is to war me, typical for a terrorist like yourself, and will threaten war with the Hapans."
Fearsons turns, his typical jedi-calm taking over. He simply shrugs.
"This I understand my friend," he says calmly, "but I am making arrangements with Hapes to compensate for those killed and those ships lost, IDTech shall be punished for what it has done, this I do agree. However, when they merge with the Jutraalian Empire and this punishment is inflicted, I highly suggest you leave them be. Compensations shall be made out to all factions who submit a grievance to me for what they have done, and I shall compensate in starships and firepower, as well as funds and operations to restore what has been lost."
