The point is that you have to accept financial aid to do it, so the only reason you would declare that you are not taking out student loans as Adept has (which is what we are ridiculing) is if you plan on working in McDonald's the rest of your life.
You just have to pay back the loans when you are through, and the payback plans are reasonable and flexible enough to accomodate to your level of income. Low income people get things like Federal and state grants that they never have to pay back (I think that's unfair, they spend their extra free money allotted for school supplies on gucchi purses and beer while I struggle to keep my costs down so I don't owe too much when I graduate. One of my old roomies on such aid used her extra money to buy a gamecube), and there are always scholarships.
