Mandalorian: I'd lurk about a bit first, before joining a group. Bum around in their forums, chat and goof off with the members, and make a decision later. That way you can get a feel for them before joining.

Unless you feel like jumping in and pissing off a certain admin and being a whipping boy for a while a la Irtar.
