Usage
¤ The Vigil is a designated system/sector patrol defense and law enforcement craft, designed to be dually able to perform law enforcement as well as engage in offensive maneuvers.
Sensor Array
¤ For advanced ship detection, the Vigil is equipped with two Advanced Sensor dishes. Each dish is equipped with two back-end computers, which are programmed to decode and attempt to interpret what every special disturbance might be. Results in a 30% larger detection range, and a 20% faster detection rate.
Advanced Targeting Computer
¤ An Advanced-targeting computer aids in pinpoint locational damage for crippling the target quickly. It assists in guiding all weapons, unless the weapon gunner switches to manual mode.
InteliShip Advanced Ship Computer
¤ The InteliShip Advanced ship computer is, quite simply, a system of networking maintenance droids to the main ship computer. The InteliShip system links all the maintenance droids on the ship together with a single, central brain. While the droids maintain a level of independence, they depend upon the hive-mindedness to accomplish their tasks quickly and easily. The InteliShip system reduces internal repairs to all systems by a good ten percent, thus rendering it invaluable. The ship’s computer will also control the internal defense mechanisms, as well as fine-tune the engines and shields.
Engines
¤ The Vigil’s engine setup follows after that of the popular skipray blastboat. Each engine and a single turbolaser are on a “wing”, which equates to extremely high maneuvering speed for a ship of this size. The four tubrolasers are permanently mounted, with only a small firing arc of directly forward. They are controlled via the InteliShip computer.
Hanger Bay
¤ Because of the unique engine design, all five onboard craft exit via a hanger bay situated directly in the rear of the ship. A dual magnetic screen guards the Hanger Bay at all hours, to prevent unwanted intrusion.
Modified TIE Shuttle
¤ The single shuttle, a modified TIE Shuttle, is custom built to integrate into the Vigil. The original TIE Shuttle was simply a TIE bomber with its bomb bay modified for human passengers. This model of TIE Shuttle has received an extra layer of armor, an upgraded shield system, and a FHB hull-boarding device, for quick forced entries through the side of a ship. Utilizing a light-sabre like device, the FHB slices out a meter round chunk of meter deep hull in less than ten seconds. This allows for very fast boarding, usually before the enemy can converge at the targeted spot.
Fighter Support
¤ The Vigil's spacious hangarbay is capable of carrying four fighters, from a TiE Fighter to a B-Wing, for assistance in chasing down and corralling interlopers and law-breakers.
