The Haven-class Light Cruiser, first of the newly developed ships by the New Rebellion, was designed by Joe Halcon. The funding to provide for the researching and development of the Haven-class Light Cruiser, named after their main base, Haven, was provided by Gil Bastra. He has also poured the rest of the credits he earned in his Corellian shipping company plus numerous stocks into researchers other ships, and producing Haven, and it's shipyards. We can not expect him to provide us with any more money for a long time. In fact, rumor has it that due to the fact that he has no more money left, he sold his company and stocks, and will become the head of quartermasters, making deals on the blackmarket for our supplies. While we do not wish to deal with such scum, that choice has been taken away from us, when the New Republic fell. Even if Gil sold his company or not, the Haven-class Light Cruiser is a superior vessel, have extremely good speed and shields for a ship of it's size. Unforunatly, it's weapons are mimimal compaired to other vessels of it's size, and it carriers no fighters, though it does have two shuttles. The Haven-class Light Cruiser will probably be the backbone of the New Rebellion's fleet, as our resources are limited, and therefor small, fast ships will be the make up of our fleet. In some sectors, we may have a larger vessel, though they will probably by older, Victory Star Destroyers, much easier to find then the newer Republic-class Star Destroyers. The Haven-class Light Cruiser will be sent out to destroy Imperial Convoys and shipping, though it's 18 Ion Cannons can nock out the ships, and we can add them to our fleet, which is very much desired, or we can capture their supplies. We expect to have several new recruits trying to join us, as the Empire squeezes more and more money out of it's citizens, amn the Haven-class Light Cruisers would be ideal to escort large convoys of recruits into Haven, as it has such good shields. The New Rebellion can expect this ship to take a beating and survive, not wasting the material used to produce it.
