Gravity Well Projector
Special Systems Description:
Gravity Well Projector
This is the same type of Gravity Well Projector found in the Interdictor FSV, allowing a higher output and greater effect. Although it lacks the power as four of the same unit would, one gravity well still contains enough power to blockade an area of a single planet. Because of the power drain needed to use this, and the power drain needed to operate the nightcloaks and the cloaking device and it's extra systems, and because a cloaking shield would be utterly useless while the gravity wells are activated because the center of gravity would spell out the location of the Star Destroyer anyways, the Gravity Well Projectors cannot be active at the same time as the Cloaking Shield.
X-20 Turbolaser Battery
A new type of Turbolaser Battery, the X-20 is basically a Pulse Turbolaser Cannon in that it fires a steady beam of destructive energy before stopping and cooling off for a while, but the X-20 is new in that it has a dual phase function. In addition to firing a powerful steady beam for about thirty seconds before cooling off and re-charging for four times of the same time period, the battery can either fire a similar beam, but at half power, requiring half the time to cool down, or it can fire full power beams for half of the time period, again cutting the amount of time needed to cool down before firing again. Both new firing methods inflict less damage to larger capital ships that the normal firing mode would, but could be useful in dealing with smaller ships. The first effect would be useless against heavy armour but could punch through armourless decks already damaged and could do similar damage to the normal firing mode, or the latter could penetrate larger capital ships armour but not the decks as much as the normal mode would. Also the range of the latter mode would not be as great as the normal or first mentioned mode.
X-10 Turbolaser Battery
Another new type of Turbolaser Battery, the X-10 is like the older molders but the mounts are enlarged a little bit. What is different is that in addition to it's normal firing mode, the X-10 has a new type of experimental mode. What the mode allows for is that the rate of fire for each barrel is increased to twice the normal firing rate, thus it appears as if the ship is firing twice the amount of turbolasers like it normally would, but this does come at a price. After two minutes of sustained firing at this speed, the turbolaser battery would need to cool off for a period of five minutes. Thus the battery would out put the same amount of destructive energy within ten minutes as it would normally, but it is output in the first five minutes while the second five minutes the batteries are firing not at all while they cool down.
Ship Description:
The Regent class Star Destroyer appears in very shape and way to be a slightly enlarged Imperial class Star Destroyer. But the Regent is the same ship only in appearance. There, the similarities end. Except for perhaps propulsion, that appears similar except for the added engines. The Regent is designed with many new ideas in mind, and those combined make the Regent a force to be reckoned with. The ship is first of all armed with an impressive array of turbolaser batteries, designed in their normal state to punish an enemy into submission over a period of time, or it can, in half that time or less, utterly destroy the enemy while the weapons spend the other half of that normal time cooling down and resting. Apart from the armament, other changed systems are found internally. Gone is the deep storage section of a star destroyer, the ground vehicles, troop comparments and barracks, pre-fabricated garrison bases. In it's place is a single massive gravity well projector, allowing the Star Destroyer to trap it's victims in real space while it tears them apart. Despite losing most the shuttles, it still retains a few, along with a entire starfighter wing to help protect it from the threat of enemy starfighters.
