TNO - Pa'al class Cruiser Gunboat
Name: Pa'al class Cruiser Gunboat
Designation: AMT II
Mission Profile: Deep Space Combat, Anti-Capital Ship.
Diameter: 350 meters
Length: 375 meters
Width: 350 meters
Height: 350 meters
Armament:
4 Heavy Turbolaser Batteries (located in individual turrets, located so that up to three turrets can concentrate fire on any one target).
2 Heavy Ion Batteries (located forward, one top, one bottom. Both can fire at any target forward, starboard, or port).
4 Ten-Tube Yevethan Missile Launchers (located along the ship's central spine, two starboard, two port. Each tube has 4 reloads).
4 Single-Tube Proton Torpedo Launchers (located aft, rear-firing to discourage pursuit. Each tube has 8 reloads).
2 Three-Tube Gravity Bomb Launchers (Located forward, each tube has two reloads.)
4 Tractor Beam Projectors
Hangar Capacity:
Two Squadrons (24) of Yevethan D-type Starfighters
One Squadron (4) of Skipray Blastboats
One Section (6) of Sentinel Assault Shuttles
Troop Capacity:
2 Platoons (80) of Stormtroopers
1 Platoon (40) of Naval Troopers
Propulsion:
Same as Armadia class Thrustship Mk 1.
Estimated Sublight Speed: 40 MGLT
Estimated Hyperdrive Speed: 1.0 Past Lightspeed
Shield and Hull:
Shields: 2,000 SBD
Hull: 500 RU
New Systems:
Naval Anti-Intrusion System
Description:
Refined thanks to a new generation of Yevethan and Imperial engineers bred for Imperial loyalty, the thrustship will once again emerge into the galaxy. From the outside, the new ship appears very similar to the original thrustship, but infact there are quite a few changes to re-shape the ship to her Imperial suitor's needs. One thing that has stayed the same is the propulsion system, being of a complex design, and one of the main reasons the thrustship was now chosen to complement Imperial ranks. The four large engines are still in place, and in addition, the advanced hyperspace system used so effectivley against the NR at Doornik 319 is also in place. This system calculates and programs a series of micro-jumps with short intervals in between the jumps. Using this system, the thrustships were able to micro-jump in behind NR pickets and launch salvoes of gravity bombs before jumping again to behind NR lines and withdrawing into hyperspace. Putting aside the propulsion system, the armament has been changed, removing four of the eight medium batteries and upgrading their status to heavy grade to inflict more damage. Also are gone are the shuttle racks that would have allowed the batteries to switch positions. Added are two Ion batteries, also heavy grade, to add a bit of disabling power to the pure destructive power the thrustship contains. The other missile batteries had not been changed. Starfighter capacity wise, the old thrustships carried four hangars, each with a capacity for ten D-type starfighters. The new types have replaced one hangar with a stormtrooper barracks, and of the remaining three, two have been enlarged to add two extra starfighters apiece, thus the starfighter squadrons are reverted to normal size of twelve each. The fourth hangar now stores equipment for the stormtroopers, as well as shuttles and blastboats. Finally, the shield and hull ratings have stayed the same, the symmetrical shape of the thrustship actually giving them a boost to their shield power. Individually, the thrustships are not that powerful, but grouped together they are a force to be reckoned with.
