Ship Background:

The Dagger Class Medium Assualt carrack-carrier was designed with
Multi-tasking in mind with the result of a ship that can perform a multitude of fleet tasks, ranging from fighter defense/deployment, fleet engagements or planetary assault. The dagger’s fighter complement consists of just over a full wing of TIE fighters. The Dagger itself carries the full wing of TIEs while the three Carrack Light cruisers house the other 15 on their external racks. The main advantage of the Dagger is its Immense landing bay who’s main purpose is to house the three Carrack Cruisers, giving the Dagger the ability to Engage multiple craft and still come out the victor. The weapons compliment contains over 300 weapon Emplacements ranging from lasers to full Quad turbolasers and missle tubes. To compensate for the massive amounts of power demanded by these Guns, each turbolaser is rigged into the Central power generator, however each weapon emplacement has one additional backup generator to balance out the huge power demands made by the Guns.
For planetary assaults, the Dagger has 4000 ground troops, 10 landing barges, 5 AT-Ats and 10 AT-STs at its disposal along with 5 assualt Gunboats and 10 Trooper Transports. In the role of planetary invasion the three Carrack cruisers provide much need additional support, in the ability to ferry troops and for orbital bombardment, and also providing three light capital ships capable of operating in a planet’s atmosphere.

Other varients of the Dagger are in the workssuch as the DMAC-b which include the Removal of the three Carrack cruisers, thus allowing considerably more space to house additional fighters and troop transports. The DMAC-c is a capture craft, where the three cruisers are completely drooped and some internal space is replaced by Two gravity well projectors, thus Giving the ship the ability to trap and capture a number of medium sized capital ships.

Note:The three Carrack cruisers are optional and can be replaced with a number of similar sized ships including Correllian corvettes, Lancer Frigates or Hapes Nova battle cruisers. The drawback to ships longer than 400 metres is that the additional fighter space would be unusable.
